If you're looking to buy another DualSense controller for some couch co-op action, you can now pick one up from the Apple Store. Just don't go to Apple looking for any discounts.

The tech giant is selling DualSense controllers at the same price as Sony, $70. If you're looking to save a couple of bucks, your best bet is Amazon, where you can pick up a DualSense controller for $68.

Apple's addition of Sony's DualSense to its store comes after an iOS update that introduced support for the controller. Users can now pair the controllers to their iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV over Bluetooth to play games, including some available on the Apple Arcade. PlayStation owners can also stream games to their devices using the PS Remote Play App. Keep in mind though that while the DualSense comes loaded up with next-gen features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, they won't be present if you're playing a game on an Apple device.

In other DualSense news, Sony recently announced the first two new colors for the next-gen controller. Along with the PlayStation 5's default white version, Midnight Black and Cosmic Red variants are being added to the lineup. The former features "different shades of black with light grey detailing" while the other has "a striking black and red design inspired by the unique vivid shades of red found throughout the cosmos," according to PlayStation's Isabelle Tomatis.

The two new DualSense colors release June 18 and can be preordered at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. The Cosmic Red controller will cost $75 while the Midnight Black version will run customers $70.

Just gets worse by the day for the xbsex :(. With all those Apple customers buying a PS5 controller, the majority are going to end up buying a PS5 due the awesomeness of the PS5 controller .

I guess Xbsex controllers was too outdated for Apple's taste.

Damn! Sony fannies are in desperation mode for weeks now. That poor selling exclusives rocking a $70 price tag must be taking its toll.

Why do you think they're selling PS5 controllers and not Xbox's? The answer is clear as day. Because DualSense doesn't use AA batteries while the outdated Xbox controller still does in 2021. Next thing you know, Tesla will be selling Playstation 5 controllers because they, just like Apple, don't use AA batteries in 2021.

Outdated tech is outdated, and Apple knows this.

technically, since most console gamers have bought PS4s, PS5s, and Switches, this statement is wrong :-P

I also have to point out if the first thing you do when you buy the controller is buy a batter pack for it then you are in fact the target audience for a controller where the battery pack is built in :-P

sure. but i had to throw away a few ps3 controller due to battery pack taking a crap and the controller with it.

but it seems people wont a not easy access to battery now in device. . cheaper to replace battery the controller.

I couldn't have said it any better myself.

Apple is all about innovation and advancement in technology. They have made bold moves in the past by removing the headphone jack, ports and CD drive on their products, and their competitors eventually followed.

It wouldn't surprise me if Apple collaborated with Playstation. Xbox would be stunned.

I couldn't care less what Apple is doing. Oh, and good exclusive games sell consoles, not controllers. Just look at Nintendo which generally makes shitty controllers for their consoles but excellent exclusives.

Just saying, if your internal batteries die, its an easy fix, which might even cost you less than buying a battery pack for the X. The main argument about playstation controllers is that if the battery dies, your controller is done, which is complete bs. And i keep hearing this for three generations in a row at this point.

Failing? They are one of the top gaming companies in the world and despite how hard you and your faction want Xbox to die, it is going to be around to eat you all up on the inside. 😂

You know what is BS? Thinking that AA batteries are not using the same technology found in controllers in which the batteries are built in. 😎

Two scenarios for an Apple person who (strangely) bought a controller by itself, which is more likely? :

1) This person goes out and buys an entire $400~$500 PS5 to compliment their controller (🤣) and then proceeds to buy $70 PS5 games.

or

2) This person takes the controller they now already own and gives Game Pass streaming a try as it becomes more widely available on PC, mobile, and televisions..

please answer honestly and see how dumb this thread is..

the more commonplace it is for people to have game controllers laying around, the lower the barrier of entry for Game Pass.. silly cows..

Didn't Apple sell Xbox One controllers last gen? Like 2019-2020?

Really helped MS win the console War.

Edit: I was right! I thought I remembered seeing Xbox controllers in the Apple store a while back.

https://www.techradar.com/news/why-is-apple-selling-xbox-one-controllers-apple-arcade

If I had to guess, this has everything to do with MS siding with Epic and making Apple Bear angry

@2_Quiet_2_Riot: do you really want us to believe in 15 years people will be using the same Xbox controllers as they are now at the rate people are consuming and disposing of electronics? You're not convincing anyone at this point.

I prefer having the option to use standard AA batteries in my controllers. Better for long periods of storage and much easier to find, purchase, and replace later on down the road. They’re generic and something you can just run out and get anywhere. Allows for plenty of options for users. 🤷‍♂️

I've never had the battery in any Dualshock controller die on me. It's very telling that the ones claiming to prefer wasting money on AA batteries don't own Sony consoles.

Just saying, if your internal batteries die, its an easy fix, which might even cost you less than buying a battery pack for the X. The main argument about playstation controllers is that if the battery dies, your controller is done, which is complete bs. And i keep hearing this for three generations in a row at this point.

The main argument is Fast and Convenience, let's say in 15 years, Xbox controllers can easily be reused, depending on condition, with newer replaced AA batteries (or rechargeable packs). That is why most Xbox gamers prefer that option, an option they can easily manage. They don't need to take the controllers apart, unscrew them, just to replace the damn batteries. For Xbox gamers, it's always about options, the convenience and the ability to manage the controller's power source at their own will, something cows can't seem to grasp, since generation 7.

Apple wireless mouses (Apple brands) are also powered by removable AA batteries.

PS controllers obviously don't "die" but Sony gamers need to unscrew the controllers, take them apart, remove batteries, find a replacement at some local drugstore, assuming these battery types do still (or will) exist in the future, and put the whole thing back together again. That's Sony fans defense, which isn't exactly fast or convenient.

Why the hell would you care about the same controller in 15 years? Unless you don't game, the controller will be so worn that you will throw it away a decade before that number, and because they're very cheaply made, you will most certainly have analog issues and replace way sooner. AA batteries being a conveniece is a fanboys illusion.
