Been playing it for years in early access, can't wait for the final release.
It is...amazing.
I play actual D&D (tabletop) and this really has the same spirit and mood and atmosphere. I even found a book that references the sort of introductory tabletop campaign I first played (Mines of Phandelver) in BG3 and it was fun to read and see how the game concluded that campaign.
Also Larian can do no wrong as far as I am concerned. Been playing their games for years from Divinity to Original Sin to Dragon Commander. All great. Some a bit rougher than others, but they have such a great team and fun sense of humor. "Whimsy" is probably one of my favorite feelings or sentiments or whatever and they really nail it.

It's been out and available to play since 2020
No
Why would you play a bugger unfinished mess?
It's fun to participate and watch the development process.
I won't sit here and defend it--yes early access can be buggy and sometimes disappointing--but if you really aren't just a gamer but a game enthusiast it can be a lot of fun. Some of us find joy in seeing something take shape despite the hassle it might bring. And I like to think that in my own small way, through feedback and bug reporting and participating in forum discussions and the like, I made the game better.
Out of all the early-access games I've purchased, of which there are many, I maybe only regret like two or three of them. And they only cost like 10-20 dollars so no big loss there.
God-damned Godus...
