For beginning music, I don't know if you can get better than this.
As for ending battle music, this one is golden.
What about you, SW? Best battle music in a game?

That is fantastic battle theme. when battle begin I didnot want this to end.
Also this one.
I'd have to think on it, but first thing that comes to mind is how tiring specific battle themes usually are lol. Especially so in RPGs where you're gonna hear that same shit a few thousand times. Find myself appreciating those more serious sections where the battle theme never kicks in and the background theme continues.
Among the FF games, really appreciate how FF12 is like that the whole time, only switching the music for major encounters.
Anyways. SoR4 entire soundtrack is dope and you're punching people in the face the whole time. It counts.
This section specifically tho, just sick af no matter how many replays.
@ConanTheStoner: Dang. Feel like a right tit for not suggesting that.
Elevator section when that kicks in is one of the the "wowee wowow" moments of modern games.
Like an awesome movie action set-piece, while still remembering it's a game.
@uninspiredcup:
Yeah man, fucking great really. Almost wanna be a Twitter dork and say "omg chills". Just makes me want to replay every time.
Whole OST is just a good time imo, but that shit is peak.
Thought about posting a bunch of fighting game tracks, countless top selections, but nah. SoR4 will do lol.
FF7 battle theme and boss theme. They always get me hyped. The whole soundtrack is one of the best video game OSTs ever made.
FF music in general. That's one area where the games just never seem to falter. I'm definitely more partial to the classics, SNES/PS1 era. Uematsu the goat. But this series never stopped having great tracks.
Every time the mood hits to replay these games (had an itch for the PS1 games this past weekend), find just listening to the OSTs is enough.
Dang, forgot how dope that was. Been years since played this, high time jump in again.
Oh yea, how the **** couldn't add Quake.
Steam actually had (and I think still does) have this up without the soundtrack, might as well not fucking play it.
Not ffx, that’s for sure! that game‘s battle music is etched in my psyche from spooling up over and over and over every 5 feet when the next random encounter hits. Might not be a bad riff, but to me it now sounds like when the alarm goes off in the morning :-p
Love some of the battle music in Xenoblade Chronicles. Has some real rockin’ tracks. The Blazblue games has some great tracks as well as King of Fighters ‘95 and ‘96. The theme in the Technodrome stage of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kicked ass.

I prefer the original FF7 version. However, I think Dissidia NT version is better than the FF7 Remake.
Yeah, FF8s dream sequences so much cooler than the main game. Better party. Better battle music. Better story.
Kinda reminds me of FFXs flashbacks with Auron, Jecht, Braska... like damn, why can't I play that game.
I swear they made Squall and team suck that bad just to make Laguna and team seam that much cooler lol. Definitely pulled a main character 180 with FF9.
Also, FF8 was IPs favorite FF game. Another indictment.
@girlusocrazy:
Yeah one of my favs from FFXIII. Didn't like the game much, but damn it had some good tracks.
playing Metal: Hellsinger is worth it just for the soundtrack alone
FF VI prob has the best soundtrack in the series if we dont count XIV
Metal gear rising has banger after another
and well the best track:

Remember Jag saying the Japanese team were trying to make him "complicated" a bad boy with issues. And something to do with translation.
But, kind of a prick. I don't want to play as him.
Guess can see the appeal to females (Final Fantasy being pretty popular with them) where he's the guy they want to tame/crack. Maybe she's the one to melt his cold exterior, like some kind of video game equivalent of a bodice ripper middle age housewives read when they're done hoovering.
But na, a dick
To be fair never actually finished it. Maybe he turns around and becomes a proper cool dude. But if have to sit through him being a sulking prick for 30+ hours, think happy never knowing.
You guys are not weeboo enough to appreciate this, but Shin Megami V had an excellent soundtrack. What was also cool is that the music didn’t start until you selected the first move in the battle lol.
Half Life
As soon as CP violation kicks in and the barrel roles it's vidya game time.
The FFXII boss theme is rousing as hell
Not a big fan of Watch Dogs 1, but the police confrontation music is pretty badass
I see SoR, P5, FFVII, and Yakuza already, so I'll go with Sonic Frontiers' boss music. If you're going to play the game yourself, maybe don't click since hearing and seeing them for the first time is both a trip and (DBZ/Nier/Evangelion/Ikaruga) spectacle lol.

I've read all kinds of weird rationalizations for why Squall is the way he is. Safe to say if they had some other intent, didn't come through.
I played at release and it's the only FF game I haven't cared to revisit. Maybe he does develop, can't remember. Pretty sure he opens up a bit more, but still a douche lol.
First FF game I played where I thought the whole main party sucked. For a series that's had so many interesting and likeable characters, was some weird shit.
@SolidGame_basic:
Damn tru.
Man, wtf were they even doing in space? Maybe I should replay it lol.

Ngl, been itching for games of that era recently. The pre-rendered backgrounds, lack of voice acting. Choices made out of necessity, but damn it made for experiences that aren't really replicated in modern games.
Been watching a few videos about pre-rendered backgrounds the past few days. Even stumbled across threads with some original background art for FFs 7 and 9, before they were compressed for the games. Looks amazing.
Edit: Actually some of the FF7 just rips from the games, but still cool.
