A90J is a beast, but has worse input lag and gaming features than the latest LG OLEDs. I play PS5 on a LG C9 which was the first HDMI 2.1 OLED. It is still amazing.

@BassMan: I'm considering going with the LG C2 cuz it's cheaper, and still a solid option. Hard to find a good deal on a90j's right now.

@nod_calypse: Going with LG C2 is a smart choice. Any savings that you get with it, you can put towards a gaming PC if you don't already have one. That is where you will really take advantage of a high refresh rate OLED. PS5 has weak hardware compared to a good gaming PC.

I mostly play PC on my OLED, but I have my PS5 hooked up to it as well for exclusives. However, that is becoming less of a thing with Sony games coming to PC.

@BassMan: Only problem is my PC is in the basement, TV upstairs, otherwise I'd do that. I suppose I could do a workaround.

My PC is also in another room. I use this bad boy....

I also have a USB hub with a long extension that I feed to my living room. So, it is a full PC setup in both rooms off of one PC.

BassMan gave some good tips already and I second that the LG C2 is the best bang for your back you can get, LG and Samsung still have the best gaming features, tho Sony has been picking up slack lately. If you want to go higher end then it's between the Samsung S95B over the Sony A95K, both QD-OLED and samsung has price advantage, less input lag(but barely noticeable), higher brightness, while Sony offers more accurate tone mapping and has Dolby Vision

I upgraded from C8 to C2 a while back when my sister was in need of a new tv so I got a good excuse to hand my old one over and get a later model lol

@BassMan: You're talking me into it, lol. Yeah, I can do it. Just need to stop being lazy. It'll involve running a wire through the wall and that's the toughest part. But it's worth it to be able to lounge on the sofa and stare at a 75 inch screen instead of 27.

@howmakewood: I'm heavily leaning to the C2 it seems. It's just Sony TVs are fuckin good these days. The image quality on the best master series line is bonkers. But damn those shits are expensive.

yeh the a95k runs about double the C2 here, 1k more than the S95B samsung while being pretty much equal to it, hence they are kinda hard to recommend unless you dont care about the money at all

I still love gaming on the desktop too, but it is nice to have options. OLED TVs are amazing and it would be a shame not to have a good gaming PC hooked up to it.

I got a Hisense 75" ug7 for PS5. Get one that has native 120hz. Also look for game mode if you care about input lag.

been a PC gamer all my life and I gotta chip in:

TVs always had these useless features like 200HZ and black frame insertion (useless for gamers) and they never made for good monitors.

The LG CX is the first TV I've owned where I can safely say: this can go toe to toe with a PC monitor.

All thanks to OLED tech.

If you can get a C1 for cheap instead of a C2 it's actually slightly better because it has 120 hz black frame insertion while the C2 removed that feature. Basically it's a feature where you trade brightness for perfect motion clarity that no other non-CRT display can match.

Great video by My Life in Gaming comparing the two:

LG C1 here. Both my PC and PS5 plugged into it. Incredible screen. Used to only use Sony and Panasonic and honestly in streaming content and movies Sony TV still wins but I bought LG as its more future proof for gaming.

@simple-facts: Really, though, get one that's good for movies. I went with Sony again when I replaced my TV this year because, though they don't get quite as bright as the LGs, they are said to have the most accurate colors of the mid level TVs. The Game mode is fast enough.

The Samsung S95B QD-OLED is pretty much unbeatable. its half price here in Norway ($3500 down to $1700, with full 5 year warranty) absolute bargain for what is arguably the best display on the market (Rtings)

I have a QLED Samsung “82”. Pretty satisfied with it, I use it to game XSX and watch a bit of cable tv. I mainly watch CBC news and nearly 95% gaming on it. Couple more years I’m gonna upgrade to a 8K if it’s affordable?

Important to know that LG OLED TVs become dimmer after viewing dark content for a while. Can be turned off, but if I remember correctly you need to go into the firmware and violate your warranty terms. HDTVTest has a video about it.

I don't recall experiencing this during actual content on my LG B6 or C9. The only time I notice this is when I pause a movie or something for a while and then go back and play it, the screen is dimmer for a little bit.

No. Only if you use it a lot as a PC Monitor. Otherwise you probably won't have issues.

I was gonna bite the bullet on a Samsung S95B (on sale for $1900), but I think i'm gonna wait on the 2023 selection. Not sure how it compares to LG's offerings, but I know it's up there.

A top of the like Samsung QLED. I had an LG OLED but playing too much Tekken caused burn in at the top of the screen. Can't recommend OLED for anything other than movies or casual viewing. Staying on one game too long will have consequences.

Find it weird that gamers never talk about color accuracy. Only ever refresh rate, brightness, (if it's a monitor) aspect ratio.

I’m buying a 65” C2 for the living room. I don’t really game in there, but I might start. I’ve done a bit of research, and that TV, at the $1,699 range is a good buy.

I still use a Q8FN for my PC and there have been zero issues with burn-in (around 3 yrs constant use). If you're using non-static elements then OLED will probably do amazing. Like people have said, apparently the C2 is just about the best out there.

Solid choice IMO. I have almost always bought Sony TVs. My current Sony is amazing and the quality and OS updates have been top notch.

I’ll tell you what not to get. Don’t get the Sony 900H. I bought a 65 inch in 2020 and regretted it.

I game a ton and was scared to get an oled in fear of screen burn in. Big mistake.

This TV is full of broken promises and has made me question ever getting a TV from Sony ever again.

The long promised VRR update was garbage forcing HDR and local dimming off. What a Joke…

LG oleds are the best for gaming. I have Lg Oled C1 48 and 65 inches, for PC and console gaming respectively. 48 inches I use as a monitor. I have been using those for a year and a half. No signs of burning. And the picture quality is simply unrivalled by any other non-oled tv. I was Oled-sceptic, fearing burnings and staff, but once you go oled, you will never want to get back to lcd or led screens. I have a mini-led TCL tv as well, it’s not as good as Oled.

Been using a LG B1, it's great for response times and no blooming in game mode.
