Between 1 and 5, how hyped are you for Starfield?

3 sounds about right for a BGS game.

We already know what to expect.

I'm a definite 5, this game was made for me.

I've been a space nerd since I was a kid, and a Bethesda fan since Oblivion. (I actually played Morrowind after Oblivion)

I wasn't as hyped until the huge reveal in June.

So many cool features to the game, hard not to be excited unless you're a PS5 only gamer

3. I think the game has a lot of potential to be something special, but we will have to wait and see. I generally try not to get hyped up for games and just enjoy them as best I can when I play them. Lately, that is months after launch to give developers time to fix bugs, optimization, and other issues. The broken, unfinished games trend is the worst.

4. Would be a 5 if AC6 wasn't coming out so close.

Its a great PC exclusive that i wish lems could play at an acceptable frame rate, but unfortunately, they can't.😢

5 for me. Loved Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and 4. The showcase they had on the game looked excellent.

I don't hype games these days, I don't pre-order. I have high hopes but as far as hype is concerned, very little.

Too much to play, and too many games that are better to play than Starfield.

New IP from one of my favourite developers and their most ambitious project. Also I love sci-fi.

And after hearing Starfield is being sponsored by AMD, I'm now more worried about the PC version being sabotage while I'm using Nvidia GPU. I'm on 3 at this point until I read PC reviews its legit, than I'll gladly buy it on Steam.

Yeah, that AMD sponsored bullshit pisses me off. Forcing FSR on people. If FSR was on par with DLSS, it wouldn't be a big deal, but it is often significantly worse. Also, no frame generation. I should be able to power through it with a 4090 at native res and avoid FSR, but I still don't like the situation.

@BassMan: The whole situation is a mess. I am worried the game will be buggy and unoptimised so that it only runs 4K @ 50-60 fps max settings on 4090 with no DLSS 3.Booo.

Probably about a 3. The Bethesda Game Studios games have never really clicked with me for whatever reason, so I'd say this will be the same. But I'll definitely try it.

Our 4090s are significantly more powerful than XSX. We should be good as long as the PC version isn't broken. I don't expect it to be other than the usual Bethesda jank. Anyway, I will be playing it at 3440x1440 as I like playing FPS games on a desktop in ultrawide. So, I will be able to get even higher fps than on my 4K TV.

It’s a 5 from me, knowing that it will take a couple of updates to fix the usual Bethesda bugs.

5 is not high enough for the top end in the hype scale,if a game scored a 5 on meta-gospel it would be called a dud.

Given Bethesda’s track record it’s only going to be worthwhile as a modding platform, and if they’re still pulling that mod-busting creation club micro-update BS it’ll be practically useless for that as well. Will see how the modding ecosystem is faring a year from now before considering purchasing.

Me either. When a game gets announced that you might want to play, come 5yrs later when its about to finally release i'm like yeah would have been nice 2-3yrs ago.

2 for me. as a publisher great but as a studio they've got it all to prove. the world's moved on since their glory days back in the noughties. f4 felt like a relic from the past when it launched and that was 8 years ago. people who are betting the farm on this being goty material... good luck with that

I would say a four for me. It's def the game I'm looking forward most to atm, partly because it's so close to release of course. But I do expect a shaky launch, so it may be a while before the game can be played comfortably.

I haven't played any real space exploration game (Mass Effect had pretty limited exploration), so that is cool. I am casually fascinated by space, so looking forward to that aspect. The gameplay looks okey. I am a little bit worried the game will be a bit slow and feel padded with low quality content. But we shall see.

So I am excited, but also aware that the game may fall short in several ways.

Yeah when I heard the Xbox was running this at 1080/30 I though to myself: this game will be fine as long as it gets DLSS support...

3...3 and a bit. I enjoyed Skyrim overall. Spent a lot of hours in it. So if it's Skyrim in space? Sounds like fun.

I wont be getting it day one though. It's a bethesda game so it will be bugged to buggery at launch. Even after all the patches...probably still buggy. I may wait for a GOTY version with DLC in it too or something.

I know for a fact that while I will definitely purchase Starfield and play it, will probably love it; I also know that it won't steal me away entirely from other games as well. I've got about 200 hours in Skyrim which is a lot, but I've got about 700 in Factorio. Likewise I'm really enjoy Satisfactory right now and I will probably play that more than Starfield. That's no shade thrown at Starfield, just saying.

Feels like everyone's happy to forget Fallout 76 launched as a massive piece of shit and that's even in comparison to the rest of their stuff that's constantly releasing busted. I'll check it out in 2 years when mods make it worthwhile.
