It's probably because people are reserving for their next gen consoles to be bothered by a game that's coming out at the very end of the current one. Probably not the best-timed release for a Crash game.

were ps4 and xbox one players buy multiple different games. some buy this game some buy that other game so on and so on.

if you look as switch game sales its always the same game over and over again.

it either animal crossing, mario, and zelda, pokemon. over and over again on the sales chart. never any other game.

now look up switch third party game sales compare those sales to ps4 and xbox one third party sales.

see ps4 and xbox one players buy many different games instead of those few same exclusives that the switch has.

most gamers have a switch to play those few games and another console for third party games.

Nostalgia might sell the old ones but I doubt they can bring the series back. I am sure Activision will see sales and critical reception as comparable to the rest of their shovelware. Can't blame them for trying to see if they could capitalize off the nostalgia after the Insane Trilogy did so well.

I'm waiting at least a month on buying it because they put microtransactions in ctr AFTER it released. Not falling for that again.

For the most, he isn't wrong. Most 3rd party multiplats that the switch shares with the ps4/x1 generally end up selling better on those console's than on the switch, even in individual comparisons.

were switch owners tend to buy those games I listed. meaning 90% switch owners will go out and buy animal crossing. were ps4 or xbox one or pc will not buy that one pacific game. 90% will not buy god of war or gears of war etc.

people buy switch for nin exclusives not third party games. you don't hear someone say im going to go buy a switch to play call of duty or witcher 3 etc.

Crash insane trilogy was only 30fps on consoles afaik. Sure they look great, but I'd take 60fps for a platformer.

And besides, I'm just not thrilled to give money to Activision anyway.

As a Spyro fan, Crash was always a boring platform game and I sure didn't care for a new Crash game that's for damn sure. It really doesn't help Crash 4's case as next-gen consoles is only 1 month away and if the sales are this low, it probably means everyone is saving money for PS5.

@KBFloYd: Crash N'sane trilogy was pull your hair out frustrating at times (especially Crash 1), its part of what makes Crash...well Crash. Loved the remasters so I'll be picking up 4 at some point, game looks great.

Every month there are games I want to buy. I'd rather spend my money wisely than just throw my money at everything I want.

So for an activision game I can say: ok, this looks like a cool game, but I can wait for a sale.

But let's say Arkane or Relic makes a new game than I'll say: buying day one, 60 euro no biggie.

But you make a good point in saying that a good game is a good game, even if the most evil corporation in the world has made it. It's fun, and that's what games should be.

i to tend to buy full price on company I know will deliver a great game. for me its gorilla games, naughty dog(except last of us 2 will buy it for 20 though when its on sale), and a few others.

To the TC. The bottom line is that Crash is dated. The trilogy was a good nostalgia trip for those who grew up with Crash and those (like me) who barely played it because I had an N64. Had Crash gone large worlds and out of the hallways, then it would likely pick up steam.

I don't think the early adopters of next gen have anything to do with it.

Just finished the game earlier today. It's really fun but also damn hard. I died more in this game than i did in DS/Bloodborne. Boss battles are great and some levels are just stupid that you need to die first to figure it out. 7/10

This year on PS4 I've bought Dreams, The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, Crash Bandicoot 4

The only games I've bought for my Switch are Animal Crossing and Super Mario 3D Allstars. I think the only other game that's come out for Switch this year was a Paper Mario game.
