Will you buy it now? Has the tide turned? Will this now be considered a classic for the ages?
I won't. Play UnderRail.

I just couldn't get into it. I remember the first time you get in a car, and you literally drive like a quarter mile and stop. I was like "WTF was the point of that???"
I had real trouble getting immersed in it. But, I do own it (I paid full price), so I guess I can try it again.
I remember buying the steelcase version at BestBuy for 7 bucks. lol
I'll probably jump in after I get through Starfield.
Never had problems with the PC version and I was really satisfied with CP2077. It was last-gen console versions that got so much backlash and while PC version did had few random glitches, it was still playable and really enjoy the game on PC. Of course I'm looking forward to Phantom Liberty Expansion but I won't buy it on launch as I'm very busy with other games I'm playing now.
Also, GS reviews aren't to be trusted IMO.
Definitely interested in playing it nowadays. Not sure when or if I’ll get around to it though. So many great games to get and play these days but so little time.
They actually revamp the entire game again with 2.0 version.
they fixed it. giving it another chance.

Play Starfield instead, and stop ignoring what you've hyped for 5 years.
Cyberpunk was always bound to be great, gamers were just impatient.
Cyberpunk would have been best CDPR game if it was not bad at launch. but now with expansion and 2.0 version. it definitely best CDPR game.
witcher series is overrated. no one cared about series untill witcher 3 released and even that game was not good in playing part. despite story/lore been fantastic.
Only bad thing about this is that it will be hard to decide wether to start from beginning or not 🤔. But it's amazing by CDPR to make this investment to getting it right!

Its not amazing at all. With CP2077, they have completely demolished their reputation. If they don't invest all this time fixing the massive issues, there is no chance for them to over release a successful game in the future, because just like everything that is coming out from Activision, there's gonna be so much negativity surrounding their upcoming releases that no PR will ever be able to damage control that shitshow that will be all over the social media (if there is one good thing about the social media its THIS). Exactly the same thing applies to Hello Games. Now, if Hallo Games were to announce a new title, they'll be remembered as a developer that invested a lot of time and resources into making things right (instead of having released a POS). Game journos adore praising this shit, when in reality, if your game wasn't dogwater to begin with, you wouldn't be able to praise them cuz there wouldn't be anything to fix to begin with🤦♂️
I brought it for dirt cheap and waited to play on my ps5 will probably start after the next patch that's hitting tomorrow. Apparently it feels like a new game which is good news.
I did wait. I'll be waiting a bit more for the expansion to release and a patch or 2 before i get stuck in.
They were on sale a few weeks ago so i got the game and the expansion for around 55 bucks.
I managed to live in my cave so consistently that I basically know absolutely nothing about the game or it's story or anything. Basically going in as bight eyed and bushy tailed as possible.
Downloading now, for what will soon be my fourth or fifth playthrough. Gonna be tough juggling Starfield and CP2077 att he same time, but I can hack it *deep breaths*
Amazing game from that start that looks like it just got a great update and a great DLC release.
Can't wait to play again.
Also I'm not gay in general, but I'd make an exception for Idris Elba. Oooh weeee.
Was never interested before it released, and not interested now BUT im glad this game turned around. Love hearing developers making their games better after horrible launches (but rather they now launch a shit game)
Cyberjunk a 10? lol. As if.
I bought this anyway, but only because its a path tracing simulator to play with my 4090.
I should get this - maybe I'll have enough time to get through it before the next two Yakuza games drop.
I really enjoyed the base game, so an improved expansion with Idris Elba seems like a very easy purchase.
I loved the game when I played it, but I bought it 6 months after launch and played it on PC so I didn't have as many issues and those that bought it at launch on old gen consoles. Looking forward to playing the expansion.

No. The damage is done and I stopped caring for that game many years ago.
Had it when it came out in December of 2020. Waited year and half later to play it and I am glad I did. It would have ruined the experience and the game had I waited. I partially understood the hate the game got. For PS4 owners and last gen Xbox One owners I understand. On my RTX 3090 maxed out graphics with Ray Tracing and 4K, with DLSS Quality game looked stunning. Perfect showcase for Ray Tracing. The game environment was stunning albeit some of the locales felt empty (ie food stands with no one inside them). I thought the story line and the arc and twists is what made the game shine through. The character animation was pretty slick. Although, I didn't like the ending I though it was better than 90% of the games that are out there. I think CD Projekt Red screwed themselves by releasing it too early. Should have focused on the PC version and then PS5 and Xbox One series and maybe should have taken 6 months of more optimization to get the game to a very good state and then ported it the older generation. Trying to do it for 5 different machines screwed them.
Glad they are getting the recognition they deserve with the DLC. Definitely a buy.
I just beat it two weeks ago. Wished I would have waited.
I'm not making the same mistake with Starfield. Waiting for a QOL update that adds vehicles and less menu hopping.
Should I replay Cyberpunk after the update? Will it drastically change the game enough to warrant another 40 hour playthrough?
Will you buy it now? Has the tide turned? Will this now be considered a classic for the ages?
Nope, nah and no. Great to hear that the game is ok now three years after release though. Well done, CDPR. I might play your next game 3 years after its release date, depending on how big of an asshole you are then.
Play UnderRail.
Maybe.

I think you underestimate how extremely difficult it is to make a complex and ambitious game like CP2077. I have a much easier time accepting the rough launch when a developer goes all out like this. And in a genre that is completely new to them. Very bold!
And now they have more than fixed the game. They have transformed it into a classic masterpiece. They do deserve praise imo!
Didn't really enjoy the game. Played it way after release. Still felt janky and unpolished. The gigs were fun and the city looked great. Didn't like the main missions and most of the side missions, because it was a whole lot of talk, follow me, get in car, talk, follow me, talk, 5 min of gameplay, get in car, talk, follow me, talk.
And so on. I'm glad the main campaign was so short because I would've dropped it.

they actually overhaul and improved the game.
which developer support game after bad launch?
I never liked CDPR but they did something no one is doing.
Good to see it's improved but I'm not sure I'll jump back in, played on PC and it was fine it didn't grab me in the same way witcher 2/3 did or even Skyrim, tbh I'm ploughing through starfield right now and for all its' faults the world has grabbed me in a similar way.

Umm.. Like 95% of todays developers? Release a game broken and fix it later is the new way. Plus, a shitload of DLC and microtransactions on that. CDPR was actually more scummy about it than other developers.
I will not support it, let alone fucking praise it like an idiot.

no one revamp the entire game. they just use patches and others.
CDPR revamp the game plus release expansion pack that is very different from 2020 game. ie more polished.

Yeah, they fucked it up so much they had to revamp the entire game. Not many devs make games that badly.
