Do we finally embrace Starfield?

After years and years of hype and marketing. the initial reveal was bad. however most recent reveal they nailed it.

and it appears that delay really work.

it seem like passionate project. "but but its beethesdaa they dont make good games" nope, this is thier first new IP since 25 years and looking at this gameplay and footage. it appears that they really work hard for this game.

of course it can fail, either it can fail or it can be best bethesda game since long time.

but recent gameplay they nailed it.

so my friends, did Starfielf finally win our heart? do we finally embrace starfield? lets discuss.

Looks like a solid Bethesda game.

If your into Morrowind and Fallout games, I'm sure they will enjoy this one.

Looks more fun now than before, that's for sure. Looks like Fallout 4 in space. Still not interested, Fallout 4 sucked. But I'm glad Starfield is done so they can get to work on the real shit, Elder Scrolls.

Those face animations and eyes of NPCs make me lol hard. Change graphics engine already, ffs. xD

As a veteran of four Bethesda Game Studios games, I've been here before... ...and you're easily impressed.

I didn't know it needed embracing. The game is in active development, has continually gotten better and always had a lot of hype.

30fps. Series X pro needs to happen.

So they are hyping up all these systems.

But how do they impact the actual moment to moment gameplay?

If they can make a good roleplaying game, I will take that, but odds are, they wont. It is too vast, and it will be hard to make an actual interconnected experience a good roleplaying experience needs.

The initial reveal trailer wasn't that impressive but they totally turned it around in the Starfield Direct. I really liked what I saw.

They finally put some work into the cities and settlements to make them more believable spaces. Combat looks kind of fun though I'd like to see whether they have improved the enemy AI. I'm generally not interested in base-building but the spaceship customization looks very cool.

All in all, Starfield along with Alan Wake 2 are my most anticipated games of 2023.

Im sad I heard it's only for X-box/PC. I was hoping to get on Ps5?

As for me, i'm somewhat interested, but not at launch, will probably wait until there is a GOTY edition with all dlc.

This will be you when this game is finally finished with all DLC and patches

@SolidGame_basic: Nah just finished Fallout 4 last year when I bought the GOTY edition a couple of years ago. So i'd say there will be a GOTY edition in 2025/26.

Should call it the bug free edition, actually that wouldn't be true as Fallout 4 still had bugs in the GOTY edition lol.

sony hasn't made a 10 hour game sense ps3 which was normal.

There was nothing to get hyped over prior to yesterday's showing.

I think it will be fine and will def check it out day 1 on gamepass.

But I personally like more focused games so I doubt it will be a 10/10 for me. I wonder how bloated it will feel.

Still exploring space is an awesome fantasy and I really dig the NASA punk artstyle they have going on 🤓!

It's a BSG game. Don't need to watch trailers or previews.

If I can manage to enjoy FO4, then I will likely enjoy Starfield.

Biggest question has always been the approach to modding. If it's an evolution of the same engine then I think it will be as good or better than any previous BSG game (because it would be hard to worse than FO4 from a story and characters perspective)

I was never interested in this game due to the space exploration elements and such. Skyrim was the only Bethesda RPG I liked.

But Starfield gunplay looks a lot better than when we last saw it. Should be good for the people that like those games

Looks interesting. Bethesda uses their own engine, I assume? It's a little hard seeing rough character graphics like that in 2023. The hair modeling is straight out of 2016. But otherwise, I'm sure it'll be fine for a Bethesda game and the audience to which these appeal.

Agreed. It's interesting to see with planetary biomes and such, it's beating Star Citizen to launch despite Star Citizen being in dev for literally a decade. I'm curious to see what will be left for that game, if it ever launches.

As for baren worl screenshots, Elite: Dangerous remains the king. Not sure if this game will replace it, but there is potential!

I have mixed feelings about it.

said as much in the showcase thread, but I think my main concern is that the setting/universe looks very generic. my favourite part of Bethesda games is the atmosphere and immersion that comes from having these well-established universes with interesting lore, and maps that are very densely detailed and fun to explore.

I just feel like nothing in this reveal made the setting seem particularly interesting, with a lot of procedurally generated blandness. seems like it will have a lot of cool systems and ideas but I fear I will find it dull.

This is really my only problem with the game. Can it be fresh and new enough to make me not feel like I have been here before.

They have been making the same game since Fallout 3/Oblivion. It even looks like a really good xbox one game.

If you're a fan of those games, Im sure it'll be great. But After Fallout 4 for me personally I am kinda burnt out on the formula

I was VERY skeptical based on what was originally show. The initial review looked very bland and meh. The trailer in the showcase was a complete 180. Space games are my jam, and this game showed enough to get me excited. I can’t wait for launch now…

Right now the Xbox community is torn over the 30fps on the most powerful console ever created. But I’m pretty sure they will have fun with this game, especially when they get pass the last gen graphics that this game is sporting

I like most of what I saw. Getting to play it on Gamepass which I've already paid for is a huge plus. I kept my expectations in check and the game is looking to be slightly above those lower expectations. I mean.... it has Adoring Fan.... that alone makes it an 8 out of 10 right?

The 30fps in this game is very very pathetic, but ghost's pc will have even worse performance.

I'm still where I was at when I first saw it, most likely wait for the GOTY edition with all dlc included, unless I get some feedback from a few mates who say its the best thing since sliced bread, but I doubt that very much.
