this looks even worse than 2005 Doom movie featuring dwayne johnson. do they even played the games or know what Doom is about? a group of marine and female lead??? in a Doom universe when its all about one man Doomguy or Slayer war against demons..

Dywane johnson movie failed exact same reason and this one will be too.

It could work, if it just explores lore and there's no "hero" but doom guy is just referenced a lot. They have seem to fix a lot compared to the other movie with making it about hell. It's a straight to DVD film which usually means it's more for fans then a general audience. I'm hopeful but expecting a okay movie if you think of it separately to the official series.

listens my frand. Metroid games turned out to be women, and is best game of all times. if you find out doom guy is doom girl, it will be better my friend. it will score 9's ong amestops and show everybody that RE2 is for kids and only last for 12 minutes.

He was still one of the biggest name in hollywood. and now he is highest paid.

beside i dont like any of his movies either. he is nowhear near kenu reeves or jason stathom.

Doom 3 was hated my friend. It's the elephant man of FPS, eventually opting to lay on it's back, imagining John Carmacks head in space as darkness takes hold, it's misery ended.

Doom slayer is badass and has more personality than many characters who speaks.

Because dwayne johnson wasn't that highly paid back then and people who make smaller movies tend to make for a specific audience unlike AAA blockbusters who cater to the masses. Its the reasons why DC animated movies are great. So what if its a bunch of nobodies every A grade actor was a nobody at some point.

I didn't mind the Doom movie, it wasn't great but it was good. That FPS scene though was mint.

The ideal doom movie would be. you have plenty of different marines but only one guy that matter. and he is Doom guy. played by some grade A actor who looks badass. dressed green armour and helmet and non stop killing demons when his entire team of marines failed and killed in action.

there should be FPS sequence. now that would be amazing movie. but shame hollywood wont do this because they are not gamers and not have much creativity.

Yeah but that would be with a blockbuster budget not with what they have. Even the production companies just make B+ grade movies. You wouldn't need an A grade actor though just stunt man. You never see his face or hear him talk anyway. Plus that's a lot of pressure for anyone to get that right.

If you really like that part, you should check out "Hardcore Henry" movie. If you love shooters, that movie was so damn good, it's a whole FPS glory. And Doom movie is also my guilty pleasure and not like I expected to be a good movie but a fun movie. It was Resident Evil in space lol.

I've got it, I just haven't got around to watching it. I remember thinking after watching Doom "I wish they made more POV movies" and googled it. I was like 12 at the time.

Why couldn't they make a movie from the perspective of the Marines? That was what the original movie did (and did it very mediocre-ly) and it worked fine. The real protagonists of Doom games are the demons anyways.

Rather than waste your time with this film people should probably watch Iron Sky instead.

Dwayne Johnson will never be an A grade actor. Or at least he probably own't be offered very difficult roles. But if Marky Mark can go from chip'n'dale to acclaimed actor then why not Dwayn?

I think an Aliens (Alien 2) setup would be awesome. You got Ridley and the space cadets going with her to that rock to find some fucking monsters and shit.

Of course there is no chance of it being anywhere near as good.

I actually liked the previous Doom movie with Dwayne Johnson even though it wasn't really a DOOM movie. I enjoyed it as its own action movie.

Horrible comparison as Malcolm X is a real person with a real history. Doom is make believe.

Also, why would it matter if he's a grade A actor? The dude would never speak or take his helmet off if being accurate. Could be a female high school dropout in the outfit and the performance would be identical

FFS someone needs to do an FPS-to-movie adaptation that is filmed like Hardcore Henry. That movie wasn't the greatest, but hot damn it was cool and it was entertaining as hell.

Here, I'll even write the script for the directors:

Guy wakes up on a slab in a sci-fi morgue. What does he look like? Doesn't matter, you never see him.
Shoots a hell zombie in a sci-fi hallway
Guy walks to a sci-fi cabinet, sees some badass sci-fi future armor. He puts it on. Que epic powering-on-of-armor scene *shields...armed...weapons...armed...*
*que heavy metal music*
Guy walks through sci-fi doors *swoosh sound*, some random monologue from anonymous creepy guy on a radio. What does he say? Doesn't matter. Something about energy blah blah portals blah blah otherworldy entities or some shit.
Kills demons on mars for one hour
Goes to hell and kills demons in hell for 30 minutes
Roll credits, with post-credit cliffhanger for sequel

See? EASY!

Hollywoods are even worse than gaming equivalent of let say EA. Doom franchise is my love my life. either its original games or reboot or even Doom 3. and really wish if hollywood want to involve in Doom universe. they would make Doomguy a one man Hero like john rambo.
