FF16 Pax presentation made the game look like its running on a PS3.

I welcome my fellow cows to join me in the suicide watch. Pax gameplay showcase made the game look incredibly ugly and outdated. The draw distance is literally Oblivion level, and the visuals are as washed out as Halo Infinite. My hype for this game has dropped to the bottom of a pit because the open world looks like FF15, which was trash tier to say the least.

Now, i understand that my fellow cows will be full of copium on this, but trust me, the acceptance phase isn't that painful, so you might re-think your copium fueled hype for this game.

Was thinking of grabbing this over Diablo 4 as the game of June, but i guess we're going with plan B.

Just watched 30 secs of, what I am assuming is the dev, showcasing him being able to play it one handed by just spamming buttons….😬😬

That doesn't look as impressive as I hoped.

Watched it the other day and thought it looked fantastic myself. Combat looks so damn fun.

It looks like.. well, an MMO, and it is. So, not surprising the disparity between marketing and actual gameplay, almost standard for the genre...

It'll do. it doesn't look a ton different from XV on PC but I still want to play it. It sounds like I'm gonna be customizing the controls right away if they want to put the evade button on the shoulder controls though

It's nothing like an MMO. The combat is basically like DMC V. It's also using real time graphics as opposed to pre-rendered cinematic for the cut scenes.

If it's from the team that did FFXIV, you have nothing to worry about. Everything about that game runs and looks great. Even if it's an MMO(didn't think this one was), there's still a ton to do single player.

After a quick Google search, this is not an MMO. It's an action RPG, single player. FFXIV is still thriving. Would have been dumb to release another one right now.

My issue is that before this gameplay clip, everything shown looked very next gen, and even listening to DF, they were impressed by the visuals and were comparing it to demon's souls remake, which has amazing graphics even years after release.

You're not supposed to take these comments literally (obviously). Its just to say that it look outdated as hell, and that desert area sure does.

Development began in house when it was developed for PS5. That doesn't mean they handled the port. At best it would have been a small portion of the studio as the rest of the studio is working on two other games.

FF16 looks excellent and well-crafted, but I still have reservations about it.

1. The graphics and gameplay don't look like a PS3 game.

2. I think the storyline will be complicated, dull and not memorable, just like FF15.

3. The last great Final Fantasy game was FF10. Since FF12, I haven't enjoyed FF13 and FF15.

4. I supposed the only think I like what Square are doing is pushing FF16 to new heights rather than sticking with the same formula or comfort zone.

Still looks generations ahead of the new Zelda 😆

I'm just stating facts. I have no reason to cope as I'm not gaming on PC 🤣.

Did ND bring on Iron Galaxy on the PS5 version as well? No they didn't because that was actually developed by Naughty Dog. Sony should waste few resources as possible on PC peasants. I'll start to worry when the quality of their PS5 releases drops.

@silentchief: You haven't stated any facts, It's now coming out that iron galaxy might not have worked on the port at all. But if you don't care you shouldn't have any problem accepting ND's admitted failure.

Well, next to TLOU (PC) at least it doesn't look so bad.

When people use the term Single Player MMO people tend to refer to the structure. Not combat.

There is a lot of variety in mmo combat. From Planetside (FPS), to Dofus (TRPG), to FF14 (Tab Target) to Lost Ark (Diablo Esque) to TERA (Third Person Action).

None of the games on ps5 and series consoles has wowed me, visually. This was my last console generation, I’m going to have my BiL help me build a gaming rig in the next year, I need to hold onto my ps5 for ff14 until then. So I’m not shocked to see it looks less impressive as more regular gameplay is shown. The more I see the less it even vaguely looks like Final Fantasy at all. Dollar Store Devil May Cry in a fantasy setting isn’t Final Fantasy.
