GT7 also can be played offline, yes : World Circuits, Music Rally and AI races

I don't care much about that. What I do care about is the Car XP. I think that's the dumbest way to progress your car in a simulator. Arcade and mobile games? Sure. But that's not how the real world works...

This is the extremely concerning. That's why I only use always offline forums.

While putting single player stuff behind an online requirement kind of rubs me the wrong way the reality of it is that it’s really a nonissue for me. Very rarely do I ever have issues with my internet.

It actually kind of funny but it feels weird now playing on a system that isn’t online even if I’m just playing a single player game. It’s kind of strange. 😅

I'll be playing Forza Motorsport on PC anyways as I'm always online so this is hardly an issue. Same with current-gen consoles as they too need to be online.

What if someone is playing in a remote area with no internet or their internet is out? They can't play career mode now? That is fucked up.

This trend kind of sucks, I know I have to be online to play some games and the Internet is usually on, but I think of people with consoles and no net access. Well, they just can't enjoy this game fully.

But the other 99.9999% of us who have 24/7/365 internet need not worry. lol :P

The issue with GT 7 was the patch turned it into a grid-fest, and that buying cars was an egregious money grab. None of the GT7 critiques that I saw were over "always online"; at least, it was not the main reason.

Seems to me the cows in here are actually still butthurt over the abysmal Sony showcase followed by the stellar MS showcase.

Its 2023 I think the majority of people who own a console has an internet connection by now

The thing you're missing is, GT7, you HAVE to buy the game at full price, and you need to rely on an internet connection to do anything.

At least we don't have to. We can at least play it on GamePass. Because I'm not comfortable buying a game full price that requires online to do anything.

Especially considering that Sony is notorious for switching servers off. They turned off the GT5 servers to force people to buy GT6. The gamers said no. So coming from Sony, that's a double whammy.

GT6 servers shutdown too. After 52 months.....BACK in 2018.

Requiring online for offline gameplay is bad folks. It doesn't matter who is doing it.

Really is sad what's happening to the Xbox brand and everything related to it.

That's pretty crappy for the single player side of the game. Sure the vast majority of people have an internet connection, but for me this is the type of game i also like to play on a handheld. Can't really gurantee an online connection at all times with a handheld.

There was a time when Ubisoft was blasted out of it for this requirement for SP PC games and oh how console gamers mocked (gotta bring SW into this :P). Now...it's grand apparently because MS/Sony/Nintendo said so. They truly are masters of many minds.
