Gears of War Remaster Comes With All Gears Games Free

Today, on the eve of gamescom, Xbox and The Coalition are excited to announce that all fans who purchase Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, or the Xbox One Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle, will be able to unlock the entire Gears collection via Xbox One Backward Compatibility. By playing Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox Live from Aug. 25 through Dec. 31, 2015, you’ll get access to Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment in Backward Compatibility when it launches this fall.

MS is really trying to do good this gen. It's funny how companies act when they are the underdog.

That's awesome, a shame they're not remastered, but I feel this makes up for that.

So play a completely remastered version of the first one then play vastly inferior last-gen versions of the others. Eh....... no thanks.

I didn't buy an Xbox One to play Xbox 360 games which is why the whole BC thing doesn't mean doodly squat to me.

I already pre-order the digital version and what makes it funny is the fact that Sony's God of War 3 Remastered couldn't provide something like that and this is just proof that it was nothing but a cash-grab. Very sad from Sony. Thank you MS :P

Did they mention if they're download codes or on the disc? Because if they're download codes then I'll just give away my Gears 3 and Judgement codes to someone since I already own them through Games with Gold.

Amazing, my choice to buy the xbox one was so the right one to make, was hoping to beable to play this entire series for the first time. Microsoft continues to impress me.

I tried replaying the Gears games, but that 360 gamepad sucks in comparison to the xbone pad...couldn't go back to it. This will help :)

No. When I heard they were doing a Gears remaster I hoped it would be similar to MCC or at least a trilogy as I only ever played the first one but just the first game on its own no thanks. I won't be buying God of War 3 remaster for the same reason.

I own all the games, so unless they are remastered doesn't really make a difference to me.

I can see this becoming a thing with other releases on X1 even from Third party like Fallout 3 coming free with Fallout 4

I bet Crackdown 3 comes with Crackdown 1&2 and Quantum Break comes with Alan Wake

well damn, that"s a pretty amazing deal. i had no interest in buying this game at launch, but now that im hearing this it looks like a day one buy for me.

Great news as I traded in all the gears games except for G3 which held onto for horde mode. Now I get to sell my copy and put it towards another game. Thanks MS! I've been really lucky with the free games and owning the physical copy, get to trade in another game now.

Hmmmm, so, now it´s GOW1R + all the GOW saga ( kinda like a MCC ), MCC, Halo 5 coming, BC ..... holy shit, time to get me a X1 !...... and a like 500 TB external HDD to store all the shit I´m planning to get.

I like how they make it 4 months or so going right through the holiday to get those christmas eve/BF sales.
