The first trailer of GTAVI lands next Tuesday at 9am ET.

Thoughts? Expectations?

Awesome, looking forward to it! However first trailers are sometimes really short. I wouldn't be suprised if it's less than a minute. So I try to keep expectations in check.

Anyway I probably wont get the game. I tried to get into GTA5 a few times but just kept bouncing off it. I got further into 4 but still lost interest around half way through. The only one I completed was 3.

But i'm interested to see what R* do with all the new toys tech wise. I hope they are actually using them. If any company can really push tech it's R* and the GTA series.

It still boggles the mind that GTA5 was a PS3/360 game and RDR2 is right up there as one of the best looking games (if not the very best) on the X1 and PS4.

Probably nil. My money is on this game being one of the first to be enhanced for PS5 Pro.

Oh hell yeah! Expecting a short and “typical” GTA trailer but that’s ok. Should look great and will just be great to see it officially unveiled. Hopefully we’ll get a target release window and that it won’t be too far away.

Why would they? Rockstars/2K stated many times they hate the idea of putting their games on Game Pass. That right there told me they will not work with MS.

FINALLY. A decade later

The entire internet will be rendered broken. Rockstar* is like no other. Not even my beloved Koji Pro, From Software or Naughty can brag about having 2 of the top 5 highest rated games of all time, 4 of the top 20 and six of the top 30 or so.

I expect an absolute masterpiece. 95-99 on Metacritic. 10 every that matters (IGN, GS.)

That said, even with 98 on Metacritic The Last of Us 3 would win GOTY over it.

@Mozelleple112: Hopefully it gets the reviews it deserves, 7's 8's at best because it doesn't do anything over & above any other open world game, it gets high scores on its name alone. Getting 7's & 8's would see the internet truly melt, and I would be there laughing all the way 🤣

@davillain: I’m not saying Gamepass, but maybe at least marketing rights? I dunno seems like that would be the best move for them seeing as how they’re struggling to move units with their own studios

I highly doubt MS would waste their time with GTA6 marketing. I just know Rockstars normally don't play favorites.

For once, I agree. He always neglects good games. Of course, I'm not all that excited about GTA6, but I am curious as what can GTA6 bring to the table?

It's rather crazy to think we haven't had a GTA in over 10 years, but then again GTAV made it's away across multiple generations through all of its milkage. Either way, I'm very excited for the next iteration. It's about time.

Hyped!! Hopefully there is a option for co-op campaign. Also hope that GTA online is available day 1

There is actually one thing that i'll be paying attention to. I want to see if they're going woke, or don't care about the politics like they never have in the past, and deliver their vision the way its meant to be.

Can you tell me these good games I always neglect?

I didn't play any Nintendo games because I refuse to buy an overpriced and underpowered piece of junk known as the Switch, so that rules out any Nintendo games, and i'm not a fan of Nintendo's same old games featuring Mario or Zelda.

I don't buy remakes that rules out Dead Space, RE4R etc.

I didn't buy AW2 because its digital only because and i'm against digital only software.

Don't have a PS5 and don't like superhero games, so that rules out Spidey 2

BG3 hasn't released on Xbox yet, so can't play that.

Waiting for a complete edition of Starfield as everyone knows you don't play Bethesda games from the get-go.

Didn't buy Forza Motorsport because of MS ridiculous price gouging (its $10 dearer than Starfield and Starfield is $100 here)

Did I miss anything that you would like to share? And I didn't neglect I chose not to buy those for actual reasons.

If its anything like GTA IV, I really hope it does flop. I've never actually been the biggest GTA fan. I hated 3 and 4. Vice City is one of my all time favourite games. hated RDR1.

RDR2 is one of my all time (prolly 15) favourite games.

GTA V I love and have 200 hours but lol I never actually beat the story yet.

GTA VI will be mixed bag for me for sure. I just don't think Rockstar will ever release a game that gets 7s and 8s. If GTA IV somehow managed to get a 98 @ metacritic and be considered the second highest game of all time...

GTA4 got a 98/100 that there alone tells you that the reviewers are just wrong/corrupt/bias and whatever else you want to call them. 4 was a crap game, I actually forced myself to finish the campaign and it deserved a 6 at best.

Now 5's mp was severely broken and held back from reviewers so not to drag its score down, and EVERY publication reviewed the SP part of the game and scored it highly, and never went back 2 or 3 weeks later to review the MP portion of the game that was still having issues. So yes certain games/devs gets special treatment from reviewers.

It why I never trust reviewers or metashitic.

I've finished GTA IV 5 times, once on Xbox360 which was awful and the other four times on PC, and I gotta say:

the only game better than GTA IV is The Ballad of Gay Tony.

For me I'm like: I don't care how long the wait is, is it two years, is it five years, I'm sure as hell waiting it out for a PC version.

I played it on the PS3 as well. It was a blurry, bloomy, low-res and low frame rate mess. my biggest complaint was the lack of being able to do silly things like you could do in San Andreas. No eating food, getting fat, getting skinny. No going to the gym and getting buff. no BMX bikes, and there was like 200 activites to do in while IV had maybe a quarter of that. The map also felt less than half the size.

Now I don't really give two shits about silly mini games at all. (I'm 90 hours into the PC version of RDR2, aftering beating it on PS4 back in '18) and I honestly haven't touched a single mini game. I do appreciate that RDR2 has most of the RPG elements SA had.

I found out that actually bought GTA IV on PC, back on my old PC:

And that's because not even my HD 5870 crossfied PC could max it out smoothly! I was frustated AF and just gave up.

14 years later on my 4090 I should be able to run it 4K/120 all modded, right??

All seriousness though I booted the game up this summer and it actually still looks pretty darn good in 4K/120. As good as a 15 year old non-remaster can be that is.

I really need to get better a modding. If you have any recommended mods to make it look like GTA 5 (or better!) let me know

Can you honestly say the game deserves the 98/100 it has on metashitic?

The game was a blurry mess, colour palette is missing, the cars handled like a shopping trolley with one of its wheels missing, the gameplay was bad, its gunplay was terrible, the main character Niko Belic was generic.

The Sony fanboys on Twitter seem convinced Sony will have marketing rights, mainly because they have such a tight work history.

Really? If I recall GTA IV wa supposed to be Sony exclusive before it wasn't, then Agent was supposed to make up for that before that never came out, then RDR was BC on XB1 for like 7 years before they brought it to PS4/Switch.

But, guess it's still possible.

Yeah, I'm worried about that too. RDR2 was a year in between so that wasn't so bad. I guess something like that is the most likely?

Well see I don't have a single problem with the things you mentioned. The shooting is great if you forego auto lock on (again PC exclusive sorry) and is a huuuuge improvement over previous entries;

The driving is actually realistic. The physics are realistic.

The city is well realised and the first for a game that scale, the NPCs are all different and go about their daily lives.

Niko is a great character, the first one that's actually grounded for the series and not just some vehicle to go on missions. It's the first time a non-American is the main character and I like the character that he is based on.

he is supported by a huge cast of likable characters, all of which spawned numerous fanbases: "Niko it's your cousin", brucie, little jacob, ...

The color palette is easily fixed on PC, doesn't even take more than 5 seconds.

So yeah again: 98/100? What in the world were they thinking scoring the game so low??

GTA4 is still filtering people.

Ever since the game launched certain parts of the fanbase have had some hate for the game. The world was smaller than San Andreas, there was less to do than San Andreas, etc... so yeah it's funny that I'm still defending this game to this day :p

Because I believe that all that GTA IV does well... it does very well.
