Has the higher player counts (50 v 50), driveable vehicles, and dedicated servers renewed your interest in COD?
The multiplayer sounds incredibly promising this year.
The jury is still out on the campaign though!

I’ve always been pretty hyped for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare so hearing things like the higher player count has renewed my interest, it has just added to it.
First Call of Duty I'm excited for since the first Modern Warfare. Skipped a lot of them in the series and did try out Black Ops IV last year but I grew tired of the game very quickly...
The new engine looks great. But the thing I’m most excited for is crossplay. I can finally buy COD on PC and not have to worry about the player base falling off in a month. And I’m glad I won’t have to settle for 60(ish) FPS.
From what I've seen of micro transactions I have a better odds of hitting a jackpot in a real casino over getting loot in some of these games.
I know how greedy Activision is and I'm not participating in a competitive game where someone could have the edge over me because of micro transactions.
I like the look of the new game but I'm not buying it.
It's a Call of Duty game. The FIFA of first-person shooters. The crime procedural of video games.
*Shrugs*
Somehow every year we look at COD with high expectation, even when the far from perfect track record should maybe make us reconsider. Well, the devs finally set the right course for the series this time, as far as i'm concerned. Now for Activision not to shit up the broth.
I don't like the way COD gunplay/gameplay feels (too fast, lack of recoil, arcadiness, etc.). So, not really interested in the multiplayer. I will be sticking to BF for MP. I will check out the campaign if it is good though.
From what we've seen from the showcase event, this COD will be stepping on BF's toes in a big way. 40-100 player modes, deep weapon customization, vehicles. And recoil is looking mean, not to Insurgency's level, but heftier than BF.
There will be multiple Betas some time later, so we'll see how it actually feels, as opposed to how it looks on gameplay footage.

Just on the recoil and such: some of the previews have already said how good the guns feel. Eurogamer had a nice write-up.
I'm not a COD fan but I find it funny how the series is becoming more like Battlefield and BF is more like COD these days.
Won't be promising when the constant killstreaks start destroying you during every respawn.
Say what you will, but MW2 was the best because of how broken everything in it was.
When COD tries to be all esports and balanced, it turns into a snorefest.
I'm skipping this one for sure barely touched CoD Black Ops 4 I prolly wouldn't play this one much either
I hope for a higher player count in TDM, not interested in battle royal in the slightest, but the more I hear about it. The more likely I'll pick it up.

Yeah but that's because the best MP fps game would be somewhere in-between them two.

This one isn't including a Battle Royal mode thankfully.

So what it's 50 v 50 deathmatch?
honestly, not really.. modern tactical shooters dont do it for me and they havent in a while, im not about to go back to COD

thats good i guess.. im sick and tired of battle royales and every one of them being virtually the same damn game
No because its still COD but atleast it will be better than battlefield.
Doom Eternal is real FPS releasing this fall. COD has no chance.
There is a lot to be excited about:
- singleplayer is back
- new engine
- a lot of talented devs have returned to IW
- weapons feel a lot better with recoil and improved sound design
- bigger maps and higher playercount
- crossplay
- no season pass
But, I don't trust Activision. They are the scummiest, greediest asshats in the industry and the media just eats up their press events and loves writing regurgitated reviews and previews straight from the devil's mouth. I don't trust Acti and I don't trust a single thing that is written anout COD by the mainstream media. So I guess open beta is where I will find out if this game is any good.
@adsparky: unless you stick to tdm exclusively I'm not sure exactly how BF has become COD. From the top of my head the differences are many:
- BF gameplay is built on teamplay and a class system that fills unique rolls
- BF gameplay is about combined warfare: infantry, transports, boats, planes, cavalry, tanks, artillery
- BF maps are huge
- BF gunplay has bullet drop you have to take into account. COD gunplay is hitscan
- COD has stuff like killstreaks and perks
COD WWII and BF V for example are both WWII games, but feel and play completely different.
I don't give two ***t's aboot campaign, what makes online FPS's great is the surge of bliss you get from killing real people. The gameplay vids I've seen look great, no ziplining/ double-jumping/ wall-running, a recent article on GS promised "no battle royale", all signs point to a good COD. To different people that means different things, but to me what I've seen so far made me pre-order the "Dark Edition" and I'm all in. Got it for the XBoneX cuz I also pre-ordered the Elite controller 2 that comes out around the same time, and come this fall I be killin' 'em real greasy. Same user name on XBL- I'll see some of you out there. Killing you all, and being killed by you all is going to be awesome. And as for the NV goggles, gonna use 'em to play Pokémon Go in the dark of night. There's a gym give or take a KM or two from my condo through a windy, rapey, foresty park that's pitch effing black. I ain't gonna be raped down there this year thanks Activision <3
Be unbalanced p2w with a toxic community of racists who want to have sexual intercourse with peoples mothers.
SP be 4 hours of scripted sequences trying to substitute substance with extreme imagery for shock value.

The best MP FPS game already exist but the servers are pretty dead because of Gamespy shutting down and that game is called Battlefield 2.

That's your opinion. Cod WAW was far better.

That's your opinion too but you're wrong :P
A little. How are the microtransactions implemented?
We'll know a month after the reviews are done.
more interested in this one than any game in the series for a while, but i'm not yet sold.
from the little i've seen the MP might still be too fast paced for my current abilities
Don't really care but my friends really want me to play it with them. So I'll probably get pressured into buying it.

I think for us there is always the "no hud" mode, which should make the game a bit more slower paced.
It won't be no Insurgency Sandstorm, that's for sure. But different flavours make for a better diet, yes?
@KungfuKitten: Post launch maps will be free for everyone. If you want a post launch weapon though good luck, because those will be in random lootboxes so you'll keep buying them eventhough you'll never get the one you want >:)
Yeah... I won't buy it if that's the case.
