I really enjoyed this overblown hype announcement for something that sounds like a heaping pile of "meh", and I thought the complete lack of footage, screenshots, concept art, and overall presentation was a really nice touch.

I'm really glad they marched out Kojima as well, and I'm totally OK with how he probably got paid like $100,000 just to show up.

That's plausible, but the big issue would be getting the rights to the Metal Gear IP. I suppose Metal Gear sitting vacant at Konami isn't doing them much good, and they are licensing IP to Playstation for a silent hill revival so those sort of talks are open. I just feel like in our current leak climate that it would be hard to keep a lid on something like that.

1. i quite like kojima's coat. would need to take a closer look but i think it would suit me more.

2. kojima could've been saying "it's over, jump ship, playstation is dead" and the guy next to him wouldn't have a clue and be stood smiling and nodding.

3. death stranding has its moments, might not be your cup of team game style wise but it's far from terrible, most on here who shit all over it have never played it.

4. mgsv had some of the best stealth mechanics ever, if tactical espionage is where he's been re-routed to then i'm happy with that, even if the game may disappointingly be years away

Am interested. After watching the DS2 trailer, I can't wait to play it. It looks even more zany than before. A baby controlled mech fighting a man-lady guitar shredder? You cannot make this stuff up w/o some serious illicits.

Regardless of how out there his story telling his, and his penchant for too long cutscenes, his games a solid gameplay fundamentals and are fun to play.

I liked Death Stranding, looking forward to the sequel. Never really liked MGS though other than the first game on PSX.

So which is it, Kojima? DS was supposed to invent a new genre. His Xbox game is supposed to be the one he always wanted to make and the culmination of years of his work and now this, which is also going to be the one he always wanted to make and years of culmination of his work.

Why make three games then? Pretty sure none of the Kojimatards or even the PR guys that parade him on stage ask this simple question.

A Weapon to surpass Metal Gear

While DS was critically and commercially successful, it was a bit of a disappointment. Glad to see Hideo going back to his stealth-action roots.

I don't get why y'all are mad... This isn't a new Death Stranding, but a new MGS in all but name. This is what MGS fans have wanted for years.

Is one of those three games that lol attempt at a game for Xbox? I have zero faith in that. Kojima has only ever had contempt for Xbox. I have no idea why he doesn't just work for PlayStation and cut the farce.

Every cow in here loved Death Stranding... until it came to PC. Before that, it was a "reason to own a PS4".
