How is PC gaming enjoyable with all of the hackers?

Every time I go to the gta v steam boards, they're complain about about cheaters. Same thing with the battlefield v boards. The destiny 2 boards had so much complaining that mods lock every thread about cheating. I've read on mortal kombat boards that all the high ranking players make the game play in slow motion. On nba 2k, in the park mode, they say everyone has 7'7" players with max speed and shooting.

And the funny thing is... Pc players will point to some 10 year old call of duty game and say "bUt c0nsuLs hAz hAkeRs 2"

Because there's more to PC gaming than just multiplayer.

Pc has always been a single player experience. You cant sit two people with keyboards around the one monitor

The Steam boards make SW look like some upper class analogy indicating it's better.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I only play single-player games. Even Warframe I play 99% solo, only jumping into recruitment chat for radshares. Always of the mind that multiplayer games don't really have much to offer. Anything can be fun with other people.

Besides, between cheaters, screaming 10-year-olds on Call of Duty, Russians on DOTA2 telling you to go kill yourself, etc., I find this kind of thing reaffirming to my worldview. Humans are shit, and desperately deserve a collective karmic boot up the arse. All this really does is reveal the overgrown chimp race's inherent shittiness.

For real tho, I play games with friends, not random people. Can't recall ever being upset about hackers ruining my games and I've been playing PC games since the 90's. I'm not saying it's not an issue, I just don't care. Maybe play better games, idk. PC will always be better tho since you can set up your own servers (for good games, at least).

We're talking about cheaters anyway, right? So PC is better (for me) because it allows you to host your own servers and control who can access them, thus completely removing the cheater part. Unless you are a scrub playing COD or something - then that's your problem, not the platform.

If your game doesn't have a way to self-host, it's probably a shit AAA game that's not worth playing. Something something can't let people host their own games because 'balance' and 'extraneous monetization'

It may sound crazy to you but there are people that play mostly SP games and play MP so little that they never or rarely see cheaters on PC. I am one of them, as most mouths I play only SP games. I play MP maybe 3 to 5 times a year. I prefer co-op over MP and no cheating in that. I am not delusional in any way. I am proof that some people do only or mostly only play SP games. If I want to play MP type games, I play with AI bots and there is no cheating there ever and I enjoy it more since it is easier for me to play and win again bots. Just my thoughts.

PC gaming is great, I never encountered many hackers and have been playing online since early 2000s.

Honestly 95% of the x cheat post is just people whining because someone is better than them.... haven’t played much online the last 3-4 years ( mostly some cs every now and then) but back when I did I didn’t ran into much cheating, doubt it has changed much

Because anti-cheat actually stops the rampant cheating on pc... according to no one. And games have been at 60 for a while. I remember when liars said things that were believable.

I only game on PC because I am a glutton for punishment and it's a terrible platform to game on. Nevermind the infinite backwards compatability, open-platform nature, mods, larger game selection than console, larger selection of genres than console, more peripheral options, customization options, a larger and more diverse and mature online community, and dozens of other great things....nevermind all that, PC is terrible. Full of cheaters. Stay away.

I only play SP games on PC for the most parts and rarely play MP and if I do, I have yet to encounter any cheaters. That said, gaming on PC is and will always be my prefer gaming system. Nothing against consoles but PC is just freaking amazing. Just don't play MP if you fear cheaters/hackers.

I'm starting to think I'm the luckiest guy on earth who doesn't come across any hackers. Maybe it's because console gamers are exaggerating about hackers on PC, or maybe because I don't play popular and casual crap games with millions of children. I'm not entirely sure, but I also don't give a shit.

As soon as i spot one, i leave the game. The next hacker might take hours/days to find. So how is this a big deal?
