How long before Sony copies GamePass? Don't tell me you love paying $60 for your precious exclusives...

If everyone just left Playstation and went to Xbox to gain access to GamePass, it would benefit all gamers as a whole. Because Sony would have to respond eventually and imagine Sony Super Pass with access to exclusives day one and a robust game library with new ones added regularly and online.

But you won't will you? You'll reply to this saying i'm some sort of idiot and that you love paying $60 for your exclusive masterpieces. Maybe someone will clown backwards compatibility because they think it helps the cause.

Will anyone break the spell and agree with the logic that if gamers show their appreciation for gamepass with their wallets, Sony would have to compete and that benefits all gamers?

Thoughts, comments appreciated.

Sony has PS Now. It came out 2+ years before gamepass. It does the exact same thing. PS Now has the most market share and makes the most money.

You fail ignorant boy.

Sony makes more money with a successful AAA game than Xbox does giving away $2 GP subs flushing away millions of dollars of development of their games down the toilet. They're not envious of Microsoft's position... at all.

I rather own my games. So i will never take "advantage" of gamepass or playstations equivalent even if their new AAA exclusives are available day one.

The jealousy is dripping off that comment. With so many quality gamepass games why make a thread calling everyone who thinks differently idiotic? Maybe it's because PS4 owns over half the market share this gen and you're salty about it. The gamers have spoken with with their wallets, and It doesn't lean toward your opinion.

Speak for yourself. There is no rental subscription service that would ever benefit me because I would never use that crap. I would much rather pay $60 to own the games that I care about than ever subscribe to a digital rental service.

I wish failure upon both Microsoft's rental service and Sony's rental service because that is not the direction that I want gaming to go in.

If I could pay very little, and play on my PC, I might try one or two Sony games, just like I did with gamepass. Besides Bloodborne, there's no Sony game I want to play.

Not a good analogy. I take it you consider Sony exclusives to be like prime rib. If Sony was forced to copy gamepass, you'd have your prime rib for the same price as the white castle sliders.

I bought a year of GamePass 6 months ago. I honestly got a much more worthwhile time from one $60 game than I got from GamePass the past 6 months. So far it feels almost like a total waste.

Sony also have Psnow which I tried for a month, with as many downloadable games as GamePass, but I realize now that these subscription services are, as they are now, pretty much useless to me.

I also don't believe that you can drastically change the business model without ultimately changing the games, what they're designed to achieve, and how they're monetized.

@joshrmeyer: Youd get all Sony exclusives on day one. Youd be able to download all games, not a select few and it would include downloadable ps3 games which is not the case now.

Sony fans saying that wouldnt interest them are lying through their teeth.

Sony seems more interested in getting exclusive game content and supporting complicated info charts for pre-orders(Control).

Finally, Sony will copy Gamepass, everyday on Twitter i see Sony Content Creators picking up X1X n Gamepass cause they see the value over not having to take out personal loans to play games and can enjoy the occasional exclusive on PS4.

Sony needs to get back in the spotlight with good news, just dusted off my ps4 from last spring to get ready for Days Gone, would probably play more games on PS4 if they had a quality service like MS Gamepass.

Why would Sony need to put exclusives in ps now day one when they sell like hot cakes. It wouldn't make logical business sense. MS are in a completely different position.

Gamepass is only worth it when they put it out for $2/month.

Play the one or two worthwhile games then cancel your sub. Xbox games are trash, and based off the usual knucklehead lem comments it’s evident how sad the state of the bone is in right now LOL.

@robert_sparkes: That's understandable from Sonys point of view, but are you as a gamer saying you wouldnt use a service that lets you play all Sony exclusives on day one?

It seems theres a lot of ps owners who dismissed features like BC, which didnt make a lot of sense for Sony financially, until it was announced on ps5. Same with PSNow....its a pretty raw deal compared to Gamepass.

Subscription services work for movies and music. Look how popular Netflix and Spotify are.

Why buy individual content at full price when you can subscribe monthly and get access to a catalog of millions of songs/movies? It's better value.

Lems saying GamePass is a great idea for Sony are either delusional or idiots. Sony’s exclusives sell in the tens of millions at $60 a pop. You fools want them to give all that billions in revenue for $1-10/month subscriptions. The reason why MS is giving their games away day one on GamePass is because most of their games are bargain bin trash in quality and you guys aren’t buying them. They have no choice but to give them away. Why would Sony give a game like GOW or HZD away when something like GOW sells 3 million in 3 days? HZD just recently sold 10 million copies and I’m sure GOW is higher than that by now.

They already have a place where they rent out their old games no one wants to buy and that’s PS Now, which according to recent reports is the biggest gaming subscription service in the world outstripping GamePass, Origin, and Uplay in revenue combined (with 52% of the market). You guys should seriously stick to fanboying for a failed console and stop trying to tell multi-billion dollar corporations how to run their business because you all suck at business. Sony’s current business model is doing great for them and they don’t need to copy desperate moves from MS that are still trying out how to sell their failing console.

True, it’s this kind of dumb mentality that makes MS hesistant to release quality AAA games on Xbox. Lems don’t realize it but they are their own worst enemies. MS gives them quality games and they don’t buy them, instead they want MS to basically give out the games as part of a $1-10/month rental. How can multiple AAA studios be supported on $1-10/month from a user base of barely 40 million? Makes no sense at all, and this is the reason why instead of AAA GOTY caliber titles, MS keeps releasing trash like Sea of Thieves and Crackdown 3.

Sony started the streaming service while MS started the offline rental, thanks for confirming that. Glad we could agree
