For me it would probably be making remakes/remasters of shit that is less than 20 years old. Serious, mofos gotta stop doing that.
What about you guys?

OP said it all.... Remastered games are pretty mid for what this hobby can be. Sadly, money will win the hearts and minds of Devs and publishers so they won't stop. There are games that make sense for a remake, but yeah those games gotta be hella dated. Metroid... Yes.... Last of Us..... Lol no.
I'm at the point where I'd banish exclusive games.... Everyone gets to play everything.
Greed. Most things aren’t generally bad in and of themselves. It’s when companies get greedy that they end up poisoning the well.
Grinding. I hate when I'm playing a game and I'm like, oh wow I literally can't beat this guy unless I go back and level up 10 times. Whoever thought grinding was a good idea in games, should be fired, permanently. It's just the worst. You get to a certain guy, usually a boss or something and you're like caught with your pants down because you are only a level 5 or something and despite being like literal pro gamer level, you have to back track and fight the same enemies over and over again, like exiting the room and going back in until you are "strong enough". What a bunch of garbage.
Exclusivity.
This.
Unskippable cutscenes.
Cringe... Especially when you just don't give an eff about the story.
"Mashing the keyboard" is often used as hyperbole, but an unskippable cutscene will literally have me mashing the keyboard in the hope of hitting the phantom key or keys necessary to get through the cutscene.
I had a recent experience with a game like this and I think it was so unpleasant I blocked the name from my mind...
...might have been Gotham Knights. My god that was awful. I would have given the game a chance, but so. many. CINEMATICS!
I second Fornite as well.
To the people that said grinding, you’re probably not a Super Nes kid.
When you had to play for days just leveling up before going to the open world.
Like in Final Fantasy 2 or 3, Lunar, Lufia, chrono, secret of mana and many more rpg’s
Live Services! Kinda pissed off no one here mentioned it. It's a blight on the gaming industry. "Ohhh but I like this game, or that game and it's a live service" F off with that shit.
Greed. Most things aren’t generally bad in and of themselves. It’s when companies get greedy that they end up poisoning the well.
Goes with this. All companies are greedy, but they don't even try to hide it.
Patches
Ridiculous the state ganes get released in these days.
Make developers release fixed games especially ģiven the price they charge.
I was going to say movie games, but then I’m just taking away from somebody who likes them.
I’d say releasing games in too much of a broken or unfinished condition. While I don’t mind it in theory for something like Gamepass because I’m not paying, but it’s happening with games people are paying £70 for and that’s offensive.
Bugs that you don’t know about until people play your game is one thing, but if the game is broken…
GameAsAService. I mean look at what it has done to Rocksteady, Bioware , Crystal Dynamics etc 😞. It’s a terrible mind-virus.
Release dates!
I'd sooner have a 2 yr expected window, than a date that gets pushed back several times.
I'd banish rich douchebags at the top of game companies pushing predatory business practices while telling their employees to chase fads instead of making good games. That would probably fix most problems in gaming.
Remove internet from the games and for MP only local LAN parties. Most things sh*t with games would go away with this one change.
Not being able to play games online with my friends would be pretty shit though.
"Mashing the keyboard" is often used as hyperbole, but an unskippable cutscene will literally have me mashing the keyboard in the hope of hitting the phantom key or keys necessary to get through the cutscene.
That made me laugh. I've done that so many times.
"Spacebar?!"
"Esc?!"
"Enter?!"
"Mouse clicking?!"
"Fuuuck!"
For Nintendo: I'd get rid of their online infrastructure in general, and replace it with Xbox infrastructure.
I'm general: paid DLC in pay to play games.
I'd banish Uncle Phil. ;o
He offers PC/Xbox gamers too much bang for the buck spoiling gamers everywhere. lolol :P
Games wise: FORTNITE
"trend": Pandering
Wtf do you mean by pandering?
wokey woke woke something or other
"Cross-gen games" just needs to go. It's holding current-gens capabilities back and especially PC ports.
Controversial take, to say the least
Unskippable cutscenes.
This!
In fact I would get rid of cutscenes altogether. There‘s ways to tell a story without making me watch a movie. There’s a controller in my hand for a reason
Here's a big one most of you should agree with: NO MORE FREE-TO-PLAY GAMES!! I'm tired of getting charged for basic shit that would've been included. I'm lookin' at YOU, Halo Infinite. Then there are Stans defending those scummy practices like: "Why are you guys complaining about this? It's a free game, they have to make money *somehow*..."
Well, NO ONE wanted Halo to become a free-to-play game mainly because there's no such thing as a game that's entirely free. If you ever do come across a free-to-play game, then chances are - and they are always extremely high chances - you are going to get charged money for basic progression, like battlepasses or season passes. It's bait for idiots to think that they're saving money.
Mtx's and GaaS games where already mentioned so I'll go with "collect 100 of X items" systems. Collect-a-thons in games just aren't fun.

If you don't like the grind, then don't play grinding games! That's actually why some folks play games like Uncharted or Resident Evil. I personally prefer grinding games, myself because they give you a goal to work for. And it's rewarding enough beating some boss you were stuck at because you took the time to come back stronger and with better equipment. That adds depth to the experience.
Idiot gamers that blame the team the instant they are losing.
Are you referring to 343i and Badthesda?
I’d banish Microsoft and Xbox. Nothing to offer, and take games away from everyone else. But at the rate they’re going, they will likely banish themselves lol
