Is Horizon Forbidden West the best looking game on the market?

These are all from my personal screenshots of the game! Just an amazing looking game, easily one of the best on the market. Wouldn't you agree, SW? Is it number 1?

Yes, it's also the ugliest looking game if you try to play in 60fps mode though.

I'm hoping for a 40-50fps VRR mode. That would feel smooth and look good at the same time.

MS:FS, FH5 and Gears: Hivebusters makes Horizon: Forgotten Waste, look like a washed out mess.

Tried it out a few times and yeah, it's really ugly. Like some 720p resolution going on.

And strangest of all: it looks worse than HZD at 60fps.

I think VRR might be Horizon: FW's saviour here.

It is a good looking game just like the first game. However, there are a lot of good looking games. Also, I have not played it, but it does not clearly stand out as the best looking game.

If you are targeting a higher frame rate and the game is dropping to low resolutions, you are not going to see those assets in their full glory. So, it is all connected. Sounds like the PC port can not come soon enough. Fucking consoles always struggling.

I think it looks great in screenshots but during gameplay, I agree with DF. They made some weird choices in terms of resolution, antialiasing and checkerboard ING. They game looks blurry and grainy during gameplay, not to mention the brightness flicker.

I think Horizon ZD has a cleaner image than FW

Guerilla Games probably didn't spend more time polishing the game and this feels more rush if you ask me. HFW still looks good but not the best-looking game I've seen so far. This really needs to be on PC asap.

Yep , especially after hearing the news that Star field isn’t going to look anywhere near as good as Horizon FW.

I really do want to play this on PS5. But I applaud you for being patient!

I feel as though, if Insomniac is able to deliver monumental 60fps modes in all their games, is able to include VRR to a great effect... Why is Guerrilla such a let down right now? They were always known for pushing the boundaries of Playstation consoles ever since the PS2.

And right now they delivered one of the ugliest games on PS5 that I've seen with my own eyes: Horizon FW running at 60fps.

performance mode was the only playable mode from my experience with it. the favour resolution mode just could not hold a decent framerate, even when there wasn't much happening on screen. in performance mode it's pretty, just not as pretty as i was expecting it to be

Its either that or Rivet and Clank.

I play in resolution mode and have no problems at all.

Game looks worst then HZD. They need to fix the blurriness. Valhalla looks better.

It certainly looks like a great looking game from what I’ve seen of it. There’s lots of great looking games these days though. 🤷‍♂️

I would say either H:FW or R&C Rift Apart. God of War and Gears Hivebusters look amazing on PC too. Also, Flight Simulator looks amazing, but is doesn't when you get close to objects. There truly are a ton of great looking games out these days.

A dev said specifically that the lighting won't look as good as HFW . It was a leak on reset era and I believe he has been verified.

While GG looks great( I beat it). It's nowhere close to HFW or Ratchet and Clank. Even Spider-Man looks more impressive.

hfw there is so much more going on in the world. better affects as well. from weather to foliage and more. like reflections as well.

maybe pc version on the highest settings vs the ps4 version of the second one.

but on the ps5 its night and day compared to the first one.

I can see flight sim but as for open world games nothing comes close on xbox to hfw.

heck I can't even find a better looking open world game than ghost on xbox.

Also there is no game on this earth that is more open world than MSFS. The map it creates is a 1 to 1 scale of the entire world. So you can fly in the game from California to Florida and it will take you 5 whole hours.

Cyberpunk with full RT is the best looking game.

It was a cool solid place to work, very secure. The engine is a piece of crap though. Todd is a charismatic guy for sure. Starfield is looking good, weekly Thursday playtest since the beginning of the year, more and more stuff coming online. Shooting feels alright, flying is terrible at the moment in my opinion, just not fun to me. Lighting and stuff is looking better and better, though it's not on the level of Horizon Forbidden West or anything like that but still a good looking game.

@blaznwiipspman1: there is a difference between open sky with nothing to do. To a open world game that is full of life. With people to talk to. Huge robot animals and real animals to people to kill and more.

Don't get me wrong flight sim looks awesome and to use Google earth as your map is a great feat for any developer. But it's just open air. Clouds look awesome to in both games.

All im saying is the flight sim is not ment to be a game but more for learning tool and real life simulator.
