@ezekiel43: Donno if you got one, but these are great.

The towel is actually on my chair to prevent my sweat from ruining the cushion, not to cushion my bottom. Sitting hurts after a while anyway, whether I'm sitting in a chair or my memory foam mattress.

I used a dining chair too. My back started killing me though. The pain started off only if I was sitting on it for awhile, but after some time my back started bothering me even if I wasn't on the chair. I got a manager's chair and the pain went away in less than a week. Not sure if that's your problem, but yeah, got to look after yourself.

Your spine needs to be properly supported on a chair. That is why it is important to invest in an ergonomic chair that maintains the natural 'S' curve of your spine. You should avoid being hunched over or have your spine in a 'C' curve. This will lead to health issues over time like a herniated/ruptured disc in your back and sciatica (pinched sciatic nerve) which is extremely painful. Also, you should not be feeling pain in your chair. If you do, your chair is shit and it is time to invest in a good one. Avoid plush chairs and chairs that do not offer correct lumbar support.

It's because human glutes are not evolved to be sat on twelve hours a day. It doesn't matter how ergonomic the chair is.

I don't have space for a big ergonomic chair.

Used to have a fancy executive type chair, but now I have a common office chair.

True. 12 hours is excessive though, imo. I've done that when I was in university, but not in a long time.

@ezekiel43: You definitely have enough room for an ergonomic chair. Most ergonomic task chairs are not very big.
