Metro Exodus coming to Steam on 2/15/2020! But seriously, who's still hype for this?

I mean, Metro Exodus got snag on Steam before it became EGS exclusive over a year now. I be surprise if it still has any hype on Steam after all this time.

At any case, I got Metro Exodus for free with my RTX 2070 purchase last year and didn't have any problems playing it on EGS. I like it and hope it does well on Steam even though this game was also on Gamepass.

I didn’t play this game but i know its terrible.

I only got to the second area, then I gave up. Not an overly bad game, but it just didn't hold my attention.

I'm gonna review bomb it, then refund.

I didn't read the tweet, but that "returning" stab is delicious. They dipset for Epic lol.

Not much to say about it, not played it. It don't look like it's a game for me.

The hype already passed, I hope the game does well and those not yet buying due to EGS got it.

I didn't think Exodus was that great, it was still fun and certainly worth a try if one has played the others and desire more, but I liked 2033 & Last Light better. I don't think the whole open environment angle worked as well as I had hoped. Past games did a much better job mixing it up between stealth, action, story, and fighting people or monsters, throw in some bizarre paranormal scenes here and there, some sections more linear and some more open and would encorage exploration, it all helped keep things interesting. Here, you pretty much make it to end before the the creepy paranormal bits happen, the human drama elements went on too long too frequently, and the long open levels got old fast. Certainly felt like more of a chore to play. I will revisit though when all DLC is out, Last Light had some great stand alone DLC so I will return at some point. Anyhow, hope they release it discounted and throw in expansion pass as a bonus for Steam buyers.

Anyhow, if people aren't picking it up in protest, do a $1 Game Pass Utimate trial and play it that way on PC, that way you can still play it and not reward 4A for that horrible Epic Store deal.

Correct. It is a good game, but Last Light is my fav.

I lost all interest in the game the more gameplay I saw leading up to release. Not really motivated to try it out even though I could do it pretty much for free on Game Pass.

Remember this quote from those trash devs?

These guys should never be supported.

I'll probably pick it up as long as it's 30$ or less.

Game is too good to be hated as shown in steam reviews. steam was suppose to be review bombed but then many users end up liking it

Played it for a few hours, then got bored of the sluggish controls, awful AI, unskippable cutscenes, crap gunplay and laughable dialogue and accents.

Played for 5 hours or so via gamepass. Was kinda meh. Don't want it anymore. These morons lost a sale.

Plan to play it again with latest patches. Should get rid of minor stutters it had on launch. Overall, loved the game, got decent frame rates on high settings.

I agree, if a game doesn't have a marketing campaign telling me to play it what's even the point.

Gunplay is fantastic, especially with the shotgun and AK47. I played through the game multiple times, and basically used only those weapons.

The atmosphere is also fantastic with the use of dynamic weather and I feel 4A games is the absolute king of immersion:

this is the same level but with different times of day and different weather effects going on.

Its an excellent game that is being hated by no reason here.

its Doom 3 and Far cry 2 all over again.

Easily one of the best games I played in 2019.

It doesn't waste its open levels, and it doesn't waste its more linear levels either.

I don't know what there is to hate about the game. Only criticism I have for the game, is that it would often punish you for going guns blazing and just killing everyone in a level. But it does make sense in the game's setting, world and story.

Hated? That's a strong word. If anyone says they hate it, it's probably to counter your spam about it.

I just think it's not that special. Just like Metro 2033 wasn't that special, or Last Light. This is again, not that special. They're fine games, a fun albeit pretty short ride (yes, I know Exodus is longer, you've told me a thousand times). It's just not that interesting for most people, I suppose. In my case, I dislike scripted events and QTEs in my FPSs, and this game has lots.

Might play through it down the line sometimes, but no Metro game is a must play. A 7/10 series, I'd say.

That was said by a single disgruntled employee and the statement was quickly rebuked by 4A as a whole. The decision to go to EGS at the last second was made by Deep Silver, not 4A. I think you are overreacting, but do as you will.

Well, FarCry 2 is pretty bad. So, that game definitely deserves any hate that it gets. It has nice simulation systems, but it is ruined by poor design choices that spoil the fun.

You really need to play better games

Well the first section of the game did not do a good enough job for me to continue playing. It was just mediocre to bad.

It doesn't get any better. Even the so called "amazing" ending sucks. It's basically a rehash of 2033s Library level but with none of the atmosphere.

The beginning is actually the weakest part of the game. Which is kinda sad because they should be giving a good first impression to the player. However, you are not a casual gamer. So, you know what the series is like and that the game got good reviews. You should have kept playing. Once you get on the train and the game world opens up, it gets much better.

I feel like all 3 of these games are more interesting than good. They arent BAD- but I feel like as soon as they get going you either get hamstrung by the morality system, the meh shooting, or the bugs. Exodus being an open-world game worked for me a LITTLE bit, but sometimes I wished it went back to being a linear game.

I understand what you saying overall but me not being a casual gamer has nothing to do with anything. The game drops the ball on the introduction of the game whether you a hardcore gamer or not. If the gamer looses interest, its is not their duty to power through because they play more games than the average gamer. That is such a weird thing to say.

Agreed, a great game I was able to play on Game Pass, too, thus continuing my boycott of the Tencent Epic Store.

I too wonder what people have against this game. Xenophobia against non-Western devs? Dislike for an entire studio and a game that required a lot of love and effort because one asshole from the company said "If you boycott Metro on PC it will never come to PC again"?

Meh. A good game is a good game. Incredibly immersive, arguably one of the most beautiful games out there, fun gameplay (shooting is excellent), neat enemies, sufficient story, and so on.

Mediocre game that I never could be bothered to play more than 5-6 hours... got it both on epic store( still available to play even though I refunded it and got my money back) and through game pass... but yeah simply to many amazing games to play currently to waste my time on this

I am not excited at all. I played Metro on the X for about 5 hours, then got stuck in a factory (or whatever it was) and didn't want to continue. The open world design is so boring. I much prefer the first game.

Eastern european games tend to be less polished than western ones for sure, the people you meet in Metro Exodus tend to be animated a bit jankier than comparable game. But it's something I noticed, it didn't really bother me, it didn't detract from the experience. I didn't care in the least as Metro Exodus was still one of the most immersive games I've played.

Problem is people's standards continue to shift higher and higher. Once people plat RDR2 for example, they kinda expect every 60 dollar game to come out to meet those standards. Which is impossible. These standards going up and up is what is causing the most presure in this industry.

@R4gn4r0k: RDR2 might be polished or animates well but its also one of the most boring and repretetive design game. Metro even with lack of polishness is better.

solid 7 for me. much preferred it to the previous two metro games. it got out your way and let you play far more than the other two and their heavily scripted "now we're going to do a linear stealth sequence," "now we're going to do a linear action sequence," "now we're going to do a unskippbable painful walk on rails through a shanty town" approach

And you like Quake 4 lol wtf. Exodus is not a "good" game, but at least it has few very good things going for it. Things such as gun design, gunplay as a whole, enemies design, atmosphere, level design and graphics. Quake 4 had nothing.

You haven't played Quake 4 so how would you know? Atleast you agree Exodus sucked

Exodus is amazing game pinky, like one of the best game of this gen. its Crysis 1 of this gen but on bigger scale.

Great game, and I'm excited for the next DLC on the 11th. Already had it on Steam thanks to pre-purchase.

Although, the dialogue in the game is boring as hell the 2nd time through. Was fine the first time, but now I just want to skip all the dialogue, and I can't. 😒

Forced myself to play it, replay it 3-4 times. Abysmal experience. Will never forget.
