We MS and Xbox are in third place in the console gaming industry, so we need to spend 70 billion dollars to compete with Sony and Nintendo, so to accomplish that goal we want to buy the LARGEST third party video game publisher.

It's hilarious that MS is acting like an underdog when MS is a bigger company than Sony and Nintendo combined. They could easily invest that 70billion into their current studio or make new ones.

This has been evident since 2016 when they put all their games Day One on PC with cross-buy via Xbox Play Anywhere.

Back in current events, Xbox has more monthy active users than Playstation across PC, console, and cloud.. All platforms where both exist..

What MS is doing right now they are playing the victim. Everyone knows what MS plan is. Make all the games exclusive to Gamepass and digital only and creat a paywall even for free to play games, say goodbye to physical discs. Take all the games COD, Diablo all well established franchises etc. from other streaming services, consoles etc. and the only way Sony, Nintendo etc. can have excess is if they agree to have Gamepass on their devices and they have to agree to MS contract. MS will ruin gaming

I still haven't bought a next gen console (have switch and PS4). I have been tempted by an Xbox Series S as it seems such a good deal for Gamepass. But as much as that would make financial sense for me I just can't give up on PS5 as I much prefer their exclusives.

I just don't have time in reality to play the games I want on PS5 and then take advantage of Gamepass on Xbox. However, quite strangely I'm not in a rush to get a PS5. Still happy with Switch and PS4 and I will probably end up buying the next gen switch before a PS5.

However, if Sony come out with a "slim" PS5 I will get that first.

This has been clear that they pivoted their strategy to their UWP and services approach, consoles, PC, cloud, and Game Pass. And with the ABK acquisition at hand they expressed desire to expand into the mobile market.

What console war? MS has gone with the all device approach and build games for the most devices in the world. Switch has demolished any competitor with their mobile offering. What war is there?
