Overrated cowboy game announced for PC - Released December

Timed exclusivity on a single system now normalised, enjoy bros.

Red Dead Redemption 2 releases for PC on November 5, on Rockstar’s own launcher and the Epic Games Store. A Steam version is coming in December. Rockstar recently updated its PC launcher and tried to tempt over some new users, seemingly in preparation for this announcement.

“Today, we’re proud to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC on November 5th, with special bonuses available to players who pre-purchase through the Rockstar Games Launcher starting October 9th,” says the announcement.

It also comes with a range of enhancements and new missions:

“The first game in the Red Dead Redemption series to be featured on the PC platform, Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC features a range of graphical and technical enhancements for increased immersion along with new Bounty Hunting Missions, Gang Hideouts, Weapons and more.”

We got a chance to chat to Rockstar about the future of Red Dead Online, which includes heists, photography, villains, lawmen, businesses, and more.

From the way the article reads, there are bonuses ordering from the Rockstars launcher, but it will probably be on Steam too.

So it's coming to Steam, but not until December 2019. Fair enough I guess, we shall see how this plays out. I'd be lying to myself I won't hit the button mind you.

Edit 2: After reading more details, it seems if you get RDR2 on Rockstar Games Launcher, you'll get more goodies then anywhere else and hey, I'm a sucker for free game bonus, and I do have an account with Rockstars online anyways, so I decided to just get it on Rockstar Games Launcher over Steam.

It was a nice game. Unfortunately I never finished it because I was too buy hunting for animals and I just ended up getting sleepy everytime i finished a legendary hunt.

Wow. Took less time than GTAV.

Guess they didn't want to wait for the money.

Interested in replaying this, but my buddy has my copy, which is fine. Too much other stuff to play.

My PC wouldn't run this one, though.

I'm more surprise Rockstars didn't want to wait until next-gen consoles arrive like they did with GTAV.

Coolyfett still needs to play this on PS4. Good for PC players for finally getting the chance.

I actually fell asleep trying to play this game. The commute times can get pretty long.

I'll be interested to see what kind of a graphical update it receives on PC.

The storytelling was masterful and I really enjoyed a good portion of the game play, particularly the hunting.

not shocked for PC version but shocked that its coming out in month after announcement.

Excellent game and I’m totally not surprised to see it coming to PC. I am surprised with how soon that it’s coming to PC especially from the time that they announced it, now, to the time of its release, Nov. 5th of this year. I thought that it would probably be a next year launch.

Remember, Rockstar didn't exactly sold 25 million. It includes retailers sales too. So, somewhere close to that number.

@watercrack445: I wasn't one of those PC gamers, I knew it'll come to PC at some point. Since there's nothing I'm looking forward to this December, guess RDR2 will be a start on Rockstar Games Launcher.

dang, I suspected it would be a longer wait. I'd have held out a year if i'd known this was coming so (relatively) soon after the console release.

might pick this up and replay it in first person eventually but i'll be too busy with fall releases to do so for a while

The game came out less than a year ago on October 26th. I pre-ordered it.

This game doesn't have health regen.

It was probably easier than last time. PS3->PS4 was a complete architectural change.

I assume they spent the past year correcting bugs and basically making the definitive version. Now that they have the launcher ready there's no reason to wait.

I'd rather have money today than a year from now. $60 today is worth more than $60 a year from now. More importantly, having money in the present allows you to make more money in the future.

Console casuals so use to health regen, they don't even know when it exists.

GTX 1080Ti and i7-6770K is fine for RDR2. If you can run GTAV just fine, you'll be okay with RDR2. 1080Ti is still a great GPU today's standards.

My Rx 580 run Metro Exodus on ultra. im sure it will be fine.

@bussinrounds: There's a regenerating element that impacts your movement and accuracy but that's it. Health is regained by eating. It's RDR where it's full-on regeneration.

Heck yeah, 60 fps minimum baby. Which means first person mode will be fantastic!!

Wonder how it will run on i7 8700, RTX 2080 and 16GB, my guess is bloody great.

Still needs a mod to increase bullet damage though, to actually make the shootouts actually more realistic and challenging/interesting.

I will play RDR2 just for immersion and its only western simulator in market. not expecting any kind of excellent gameplay.

It just takes me out of it when the gameplay is so dumbed down and popamole... I can't even get IMMERSED. lol

A few changes could drastically improve on that.

That's gotta put a bee in some consolite's bonnets. Seriously though, I started the PS4 version and gave up. Maybe i'll double dip, depending on how it performs.

They should have released it when I still cared about it. Lost sale.

sometimes late is better. including more features and with better controls and better graphics.

wild west is incredible setting. full of badass men with cowboy hats and guns. kinda shame developers are not exploring this genre most.
