Prince of Persia:The Lost Crown

Looks like a solid side scrolling platforming game.

Not feeling it, the music in the trailer doesn't help either.

@Chutebox: Yeah, I stopped taking notice of the game and started wishing that god awful music would go away, not a good first impression.

The music of choice is so-so but everything else was solid, I always enjoy the Prince of Persia games but I must admit, I'm excited for the new one next year so this is going into my Wishlist.

I'd prefer another Prince of Persia like Sands of Time.

Not a fan of side scrolling PoP games, they limit movement too much for my liking

Probably some producers favorite jam of the week, but it really doesn't fit. Just distracting.

I cannot stand this art direction/easthetic. Its the cheapest, laziest mobile trash in gaming.

Combat and platforming look pretty good from the bit showed. A little too cartoony looking imo.

What happened to the prince of Persia remaster? Wasn't it delayed? Or did it get cancelled? Aren't they doing a 3D reboot?

It looks special for sure, as long as they don't pick hip hop as the driving soundtrack for this game I'll definitely play.

The remake was being made by an Indian studio that had no experience making games. Ubisoft thought having a game set in India being made by an Indian studio would be a smash hit.

Game was in development hell until Ubisoft decided to bring back the game to their mother studio: Montreal.

Only issue is: the assassin's creed engine this is running on doesn't account for PoP parkour like swinging from pipes or wall running... So yeah the game is still nowhere near ready for a release.

Looks really drab for being from the people behind Rayman Legends. I hope it's fun though, the platforming looks pretty solid.

Thanks for making me sad this isn't on the Ubiart engine.

I played through Valiant Hearts 2 recently, and eventhough it didn't have the deepest gameplay, it was still a fun experience because it was running on Ubiart. There is not a single game that I don't like on that framework.

At first I was like "new PoP? Nice! From those who made Rayman Legends? Ok, that's awesome." Then I saw the trailer. What I had in mind was like 10 thousand times cooler than that.

I admit I was a bit surprised by the Hip-hop, Dreadlocks, black vibe of that new Prince of Persia. I wouldn't say I didn't like it but it felt misplaced IMO.

Persian/Iranian music would have set a better mood for the reveal but I get that Ubisoft is trying to set the hype but missed the mark. As I've said, the gameplay looks awesome for sure.

Also, the new Price looks like he's trying to be Killmonger.

The game wasn't set in India. Only the tutorial section was set in India.

There is still time to patch the hair and earrings. Come on Ubi u can do it!

Looks fine to me. It kind of makes sense PoP would go back to 2D though (the Apple II days, Sands of Time wasn't the first, folks) after the success of games like Metroid Dread.

Disappointed it's 2d....will wait and see.

Wish it looked less like one of those texture-less, washed out games that are meant to run on phones. I also think the prince looks way too serious for a 2D game. Feels weird.

I believe a new 2D PoP game with a better artstyle could look fucking awesome. This didn't.

This game trailer doesn’t really feel “Persian”. The music doesn’t resemble anything that could be considered Persian, nor does the main characters hairstyle. Hopefully they will improve things when the game releases. Prince of Persia 2008 was the best game in the series IMO. It was a beautiful game with nice art style, music, and it had a Persian vibe to it. This new game doesn’t impress me so far.

So, even by looking at this thread, Prince of Persia suffers the same fate as Metal Gear, more people only know the 3Dgames and not the 2D games on oldercomputers, even though they were revolutionary for their time.

Not every IP can be as respected as Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or Sonic, I guess when it comes to 2D and 3D transitions.

@nintendoboy16: The game looking boring and the awful music is probably a much bigger reason for the dislikes than what you're talking about.

Game actually looks like it might be good, like old Ubisoft games. Not pinning my hopes on it though.

Looks like a mobile game, then again maybe this was the original vision for the remake and instead of canceling it they make this generic side game 🤷‍♂️

I mean I don't even see it as a throwback to the old game as it's a completely different style. It is 2D for sure, but it has nothing in comon with the original game.

With regards to 2D game

The game might be good. I honestly hope so. The visual style I have trouble judging it, even back then I thought 2 was a step back from the original.

Do we know the price of this mobile game? If its anything over $14.99 LOL

It's not even the Prince. I thought the game centers around the immortals that were responsible for protecting the Prince.

some nasty auto tune bullshit pop rap for a prince of persia game lol? more surprising than anything. looks pretty good tho, even if it sounded terrible.

the lost crown is kinda fitting for a ubisoft game. lost it circa 2006ish by my reckoning

Awful trailer and the story will probably have none of the charm of the PS2 games (except warrior within...lets not talk about that)....and the character designs are...er...not to my taste...but the game shows some promise. I definitely get a metroid vania vibe off it and, if the controls are on point, it looks like its going to be quite a slick platformer.

Just...that music. Leave it to the trailer and let's not utter it again.

Shitty trailer music, hate the design of the prince but the game itself looks like a fun time.

why they are making this game - nobody remember it and only may be 2 or 3 games in the serie are good. if they call it 2D Assassin's Creed may be it will catch the attention.

I was too distracted by how it looks so much like a Fortnite game. I'm not really liking how that style is so popular. The MC looks like a Gen Z cosplaying the Prince.

That was the original PoP in 1989. I'm talking about the game revealed at the show. Most probably they took the original idea of AC (which started as a PoP game) and made it into a 2d platformer.

But looks cool, I'll definitely check it out on release.

No thanks. I don't know if the original games used rotoscoping, but it's a much more interesting look than whatever this is.

@hrt_rulz01: The fighting seems ok, and i'm ok with the African American vibe of the character. However, the traversing between levels looks frustrating/boring to me. Jump over this spike, roll under another, etc.
