PS5 SSD is finally a GAMECHANGER (RE8)

Skip to 17:00 for comparison in RE8. Last gen custom SSD Series X costed players a slow 8 seconds waiting (eww so slow) while the supercharged PS5 SSD showed almost no loading time into game! Super instant in gameplay no loading at all, PS5 SSD is gamechanger and results will only improve as the gen goes on ~

There must be another issue. The Series S/X SSD is factually faster than a SATA SSD. Significantly faster. It's not that much slower than the PS5 SSD either. It should only be a couple of seconds or so slower than the PS5. Something else is going on here. This doesn't sound right. The fact that there's no loading on the SATA SSD proves something is going on.

So with the PS5 version, you get to wait 7 seconds less for the game to load, and on Xbox, you get slightly better performance.

That topic title is extremely silly after finding out what the thread was about.

If I had a PS5 and the option to make the game load for 7 seconds longer to get better fps, I definitely would.

It loads a little faster it doesn't run better get your facts correct! So you don't see a loading screen but common sense should tell you it still has to load. Then again you don't seem to have any common sense!

The lack of loading screens on RE8 PS5 is definitely impressive, and I have to wonder why they couldn't do something similar on Xbox Series X. But I'm not going to get choked up about a one-time 7-8 second loading screen, especially when I will rarely have to see it thanks to Quick Resume. 😁

PS5's fast load times are a combination of fast SSD hardware and dedicated decompression hardware. MS has its own for Series X but isn't as powerful which is why we're seeing 8 second load times vs ~1 second load times on RE8. The Series X isn't slow necessarily, but the PS5 can be faster when used properly.

Which is why gamers question MS for not going the same route with PS5 SSD. In other words, we're not saying XSX SSD is weak but it could have been better.

Menus are game changers.

Probably to save money to go with better everything else I'd imagine.

Wouldn't Sony have been better spending the money on the PS5 instead of paying for parity in games so the SSD difference becomes the only thing different.

8 seconds at worst that doesn't happened a lot due to quick resume (which is available for other games) does seem like a good way to spend money to me.
