Have to say I'm surprised. It looked... "Generic" isn't the right word, but just like exactly the sort of game you expect some AAA to make at some point. I just feel tired these days when I see the cinematic announvements for these kind of things. But I'll pay more attention now - might give it a serious look if I get a PS5

By the way is there any form of coop in this game? Seems like reviewer did not touch upon it in the review. Twin stick arcade shooter like this game would be great fun together.

Tomorrow it'll be in the hands of the gamers, so I can't wait to see what they think of the game.

A person can only take so many L’s before it makes them snap. Being an Xbox fanboy has been an impossible task over the past 8 years. I fell bad for them, honestly...

Impressive, wasn’t sure why this game didn’t get more hype as it looked pretty decent... no way I am going to play it with a controller though, but if it ever comes to pc I’ll be all over it!

IGN: Returnal review gave it a 8/10. The review is interesting because the only negative he had about the game is the runs take too long which is fair. But his complaint is awkward to me because the only way to put the game down and play later is rest mode which he is saying like a bad thing. I’ve kept my PS4 (PS5 in the future) in rest mode since I got them and it’s just fine.

With all that said, IGN review is a bit more detail than GS review to say the least IMO. I wasn't really hype for this game but I will pick it up on a sale but overall, I'm more hype for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart more so.

That's impressive! Of course i would only play it if i could find a console to buy... Maybe in 2025.

@davillain-: Requiring the system to be in rest mode if you need to pause play and return is bad. Even Demon's Souls allow you return to your location on exit.

Microtransactions and infinite spending has tought us that satisfaction should be instant, at the press of a button.

A little Edge of Tomorrow reference, Gamespot editors - I like it.

The game looked great to me since the reveal trailer. Kinda looks like Dark Souls and Metroid Prime meets Groundhog Day -- or in this case -- Edge of Tomorrow.

But alas, I don't currently own a PS5 to simply jump up and buy it. But when I eventually do get the PS5 this will be a must-own for me.

That's because IGN actually is a shit review source.

I've seen it at least a dozen or so times now where IGN flat out gets objective things wrong and runs with it in their "reviews."

From getting caught spelling wrong or mispronouncing character names they had an entire game to learn how to pronounce, to outright getting mechanical facts wrong and running with it - IGN has done it all.

Hell, IGN will actually downgrade a game for having "too much water." Yes IGN actually did that.

What baffles me is why people still click on IGN when their credibility as a review source has long gone down the toilet decades ago.
