Don't really care for MC in general cause it doesn't tell the whole story of a game may in fact be good if given the chance to play it for yourself. But nevertheless, that's good to hear Astral Chain is getting lots of praises.

I'm sure Fire Emblem is an amazing game, but Astral Chain looks like something special on the Switch with insanely cool looking gameplay.

Just looking at this gameplay makes me go "wow". Non-Switch owners ought to be jealous of this one not being on their system.
Gameplay looks better now that I've seen more environments and smoother videos. I couldn't bring myself to get ultimate alliance 3 but I'm glad I passed that up cause now I can get this game.
Playing it right now, feels great. Once you get in the groove with the combat, it feels so good. And the artwork and environments are terrific. Could be the best looking Switch game.

Played a couple hours. So far I love it, I think it's incredible. The beginning is a bit slow, but then it shifts into full Platinum mode finally and blew me away. Here are my initial impressions:
Love the anime style and sci-fi setting
Love the MUSIC. Reminds me of Nier Automata.
Even though I barely played W101, I remember the controls, and this game feels like W101 in that respect. You're managing all this stuff on screen while multitasking. The core combat though feels like a mix between Bayonetta and Nier Automata.
Graphics are a little disappointing (looks like a Wii U game). But I'm ok with it.
Story is very intriguing so far and I think it is the most story centric Platinum game I've played.
Critics were right to criticize the lack of dialogue for the main protagonist. It just seems awkward and weird.

Lol, well I'm switching between that and Spider-Man which is gorgeous. My eyes need to adjust.
The graphics are not a negative at all AFAIC. What I have seen thus far looks detailed, vibrant, etc.., The shadowing is done very well and , although I hate mentioning it again, looks on track with the likes of TMNT:MIM and T:D. The uniforms, vehicles, soda machines, etc.., pop and are not generic plants in a generic world.
Man, this game is fantastic. I'm only near the end of the 3rd file, and it's already one of the best action games I've played in years.
Highly, highly recommended so far. It plays...like if Bayonetta was chained to the main character from Vanquish? There's a wonderful combination of carefully timed dodging and extreme mobility, and it's only going to get better as I unlock more legions, skills and abilities.
To me the world feels inspired by a film like Blade Runner, and unexpectedly there are L.A. Noire-esque investigation sequences as well. Astral Chain to me is a big departure from Platinum Games yet it still resonates as a Platinum game.
