This should have flopped but no, it sold well. Expect faster PC releases in the future. Sony will want to maximize sales on Playstation but still grab as many PC customers as they can while the game is fresh. The Last of Us Part I was announced before it was even released and according to someone who worked on the project, it will launch "very soon after the PS5 version."

Porting their games to PC seems to be working quite well for Sony so far. Cheap and fast with a great ROI.

I just want bloodborne, but that's just a pipe dream at this point. If a remaster/remake does happen, it will sell tons on PC.

Elden Ring peaked at 950K concurrent players on PC which is utterly insane. I could see a Bloodborne port do 100K.

Totally expected this to be a major hit on Steam and guess what, I'm really enjoying this solid port with all its PC blessing I might add. Juub, you totally underestimate how super duper Spider-Man license is popular to this very day. Of course, it's gonna be a hit everywhere, including the U.K, and Spider-Man in the MCU does carry weight on the property's license so makes sense for the port to have solid sales on Steam.

Sony should be happy with the results that PC is making them money more so.

CoD, Fortnite, Apex, PUBG are some of the biggest PC games. Even Diablo Immoral is being played by many on PC. Last of Us, Days Gone, God of War, Uncharted, Spiderman, insert any crappy Sony game, sells great on PC.

Why should it be a flop? There's no decent Spider-Man games on PC... And there's been a gaming drought these past 2 years. Gamers are desperate to play something.

This nonsense is shameful. PC gamers need to be ashamed of themselves for buying this game for $70. It was literally selling for $10, heck they even gave it away for free at one point if you bought miles morales.

I've seen this game pop up a bunch of times on my steam deck store. There's no way I'm buying it. I might pick up stray though.

This only confims my earlier suspicions that pc gamers were starving for great single player games before Sony started rolling out pc ports. I'm glad Spiderman ps4 sold well on pc and I'm sure it performs beautifully. Finally we get to see all that power put to actual use. No more comparisons to old-ass games like Crysis on max settings. New bench marks!

I picked up God of War, Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. Will be getting Spiderman in a few weeks for sure. Hope they port Ghost of Tsushima.

I was told there was a thirst for games like this on PC. Turned out I was right, these sold but not anywhere near exceptional numbers. Majority of PC gamers don't give two sh*ts about these 'movie games'.

What were you expecting? A bunch of 3+ year-old games that sold to saturation on the Playstation platforms. They probably cost like 10M-20M to port.

Those sold exactly the amounts I was expecting. I was just responding to cows who are saying hermits were starved for 'good' games or were hypocrites when they criticize Sony games. Anyway, those ports didn't cost 10M to port. It cost way way less than that. Even 5M is stretching it too far.

Spiderman is pretty good. even I ended up liking it. someone who absolutely hate movie games, open world, third person, modern gaming etc.

Good for you. I don't like superheros or AC/Far Cry clones and I'm pretty much done with Batman's combat system. It was exciting with cinematic take-downs etc. back in 2009/2011, not anymore. Got bored with Arkham Knight so yeah it has nothing to offer to me.

@pc_rocks: I was talking about the combined amount of the ports. 100M+ is a huge ROI. I think GOW was ported by like 4 guys on a full time schedule and a bunch of other people helping out.

Hopefully Sony gives us PS5 fans new games by 2025, with no games with announced dates in 2023 and 2024. I am fine waiting until 2025 for new Sony games, but sooner would be nicer.

And why is this the case? Because hermits are the most desperate gamers of them all. All they get are old ports, and that the standard.
