Ah. So they do want to pull a Rocksteady. Well good luck to them I say. Their first concern should be the mechanics centered around Spidey's powerset.

Intriguing. I never imagined a Spidey game would be exclusive to a console and that one day Insomniac would be developing it.

Based on their track record, I think Insomniac will do a good-fantastic job with this new series of Spider-Man games.

Yes. I love Ratchet and Clank. Fun game. Exclusive = more time to develope very good game and not waste time on other platforms. I'm just wondering what they gonna do with gameplay or missions. Open world game and they can't do very deep gameplay or missions. Just wondering because it's hard to do spider-man

I don't think there will be ever Sunset Overdrive sequel after big flop. In fact this made big problems. Game couldn't even sell million.

I was surprised, like others, that this game was an Insomniac title and not a Sucker Punch one, but I think Insomniac is a good dev for it and, in some respects, might even offer a fresher/more exploratory take on the mechanics. Sucker Punch may have played it safe - this could benefit from some SSOD R&C spirit

Good to see them ditch Xbox.

Wonder if they're gonna make a sequel to R&C remake, I heard it did really well.

The possibilities for this partnership between Sony and Marvel are endless. Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, X-Men, Deadpool, Punisher. We could get so many great games from this.

I hope the movie bombing doesn't impact the future of the series. The game was great and sold well everywhere. There is clearly demand for 3D platformers right now.

@lamprey263: Insomniac community manager said all hands are on deck for this project. Don't expect any AAA games other than Spider-Man from Insomniac for a long time if this is successful. They said this is biggest budget project they have ever had.

Sunset Overdrive is probably a distant memory to them. This is a lifetime opportunity for that studio.

@panda30: Spider-Man is by far the most popular comic book superhero based on merchandise sales. Stop your damage controlling. If this game is good it will be MASSIVE for Sony and Insomniac.

I hope Insomniac can squeeze in another R&C game this "generation", but they seem completely focused on Spider-Man for now.

@panda30: No one cared because they were cheap cash-in shovelware from Activision. Just like no one cared about Batman games until WB/Rocksteady finally did it some justice. This is a big budget project from a proven studio. It will be a huge hit and a system seller.

@panda30: Because most previous Spider-Man games were combinaries of cash grab movie tie-ins, made by shitty studios with low budgets. This game is being made a studio with a good rep and being backed with MAJOR funding with no ties to a movie. That is why people are excited. It could be the next Arkham.

Now this is a lie. Spider-Man games sold so well and even one of the most watched video games ever in youtube. Even Spider-man 3 walkthrough had 14 million viewers, TASM 2 13 millions but Uncharted only 3.7 million. Far bigger than Batman. Exclusive means that they don't have to split development and can focus on 1 platform and this mean already better game.

Played and enjoyed quite a few Spider-Man games over the years so I am really looking forward to this. Wouldn't bother me if it was multi-platform though, but if I had the choice I would prefer it on PS4 so I am happy as a pig in shit.

@panda30: Borrowing a design from a previous work does not make it a movie tie-in. They have already said this game in is it's own thing and centre around a more mature Spider-Man...the complete opposite of Homecoming.

Can't wait for this game. Day freaking one. Spiderman is one of my all time flavor a side from batman and a few Japanese super heroes.

I trust Insomniac with this franchise.

I would to see a game where you can go from point A to pont B with ease, have the chance to climb buildings, swing around the city, stop crime...and of course fight against super villians.

Pretty much a mix between Arkham City, Infamous and Spider-Man 2...i know is too much to ask, but i trust they can make a good job with the franchise.

Developing one spiderman game is okay, but I don't want to see them dedicate an entire series worth of games to the franchise. I would rather see them create their own original content (spyro the dragon, ratchet and clank, resistance) for playstation like how they used to

Sounds promising. Insomniac are great developers and I think they will do a kick ass job with Spidey. I am extremely excited for it. I giggled and squeeled like a fucking schoolgirl when Sony announced it.

Lame. Guess I won't be playing it. I'd like to get my hands on a decent Spider-Man game, but a PS4 is a waste of money for me. Oh well.

I know Marvel have recently acquired that back and maybe having all the games Sony exclusive was part of the deal made with Marvel?

fanboys seem to be hemorrhaging here, Let's be honest, THIS Spiderman showing was incredible and I'm not even a Spiderman fan to speak. Lems are making a lot of excuses here and trying to use mental gymnastics to downplay the power of Spiderman and acting as if this showing somehow the same as other spiderman games from the past when it's on a whole other level.

Gotta say most xbox fanboys here seem more focused on desperately downplaying games that have clearly excited gaming fans and pretend like they they don't like anything that's not on xbox than actually celebrating a great looking title that's coming to the gaming world.

I swear everything Sony comes out with another incredible looking game that most of the gaming world is excited to see NO lemmings seem like it lol. It's like a boring auto response from lemmings that always has me thinking, "no shit it's not on xbox".

There is a such thing as a honest disagreeable opinion...and then there is the xbox fanboy auto downplaying and "I don't like those games" response lems always give. Lems are becoming closer and closer with their downplaying and "not liking" games to the point that they might as well not even call themselves gamers anymore.

@lamprey263: they have a lot of projects going on right now, VR games for Oculus, that Song of the Deep game and other stuff. I read that in a recent interview, I don't think they'd have a problem making a SO sequel. If MS wants to or them.

Amazing spider-man was imo good, maybe this new spidy game could be come something like the Arkham series of Rocksteady.

I have only purchased one Spider man game, boy was that a mistake.
