State of Play coming tomorrow March 9, focusing on Japanese games

"Sony has announced the next PlayStation State of Play event for tomorrow, March 9, and it will focus on Japanese-published games coming to both PS4 and PS5. The 20-minute presentation will include new game reveals in addition to updates on previously announced titles.

How to watch PlayStation State of Play

The PlayStation State of Play, which is essentially Sony's take on Nintendo Direct presentations, will be available to watch via YouTube and Twitch. It begins at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET and will last for approximately 20 minutes. Other timezones are included below:

• 4 PM CT
• 5 PM ET
• 10 PM GMT
• 9 AM ACT (March 10)

What to expect

The 20 minutes will predominantly focus on games from Sony's Japanese publishing partners for both PS4 and PS5, though Sony said a few other partners from around the world will be featured, too. This could mean updates on games like Final Fantasy XVI, though it's, of course, unclear what the unannounced games will be. What we won't see is more information on the PSVR 2--either hardware or games--so we should expect more news on that at a later date."

Here's hoping to see some confirmed info, one way or the other, on TLOU Factions, Sly Cooper, inFAMOUS, Twisted Metal, Motorstorm and SOCOM. Put these rumors to rest finally, Sony.

Can we talk a minute and talk about the sad sad fact that almost 2 years after the release of their next gen console they still announce new games coming to their previous one… even as someone who only have a PS4, I still hate the fact that new generation of games are still being held back by last generation hardware….

Still playing Elden Ring, GT 7, Vanguard and Cyberpunk ps5 version (2nd play through, going corpo). FF 16 news would be great.

I mean....there was a global pandemic. Consumers widely can't get next gen systems. If covid never happened I would imagine GT7, Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok wouldn't be on PS4. Only like 67% of physical sales of Horizon were on PS5...almost a full third on PS4. What does that tell you.

The dream would be some kind of Legend of Dragoon prequel but I know that’ll never happen. A remake is possible but almost as unlikely.

This will have great stuff for people who like Japanese content. Boring for those who don't.

I'm curious if they'll confirm any of the rumors around Capcom and Konami.

IMO the Japanese market has always been a bigger differentiating factor of what I get out of my PS consoles versus the Xbox. I think this could be one of Sony's better events potentially.

Expecting some FFXVI and perhaps RE:4.

All the waiting and rumors of a huge show with new IP's, old classics making a return, etc. etc. and we get a 20 minute show on Japanese games? I guess it's better than just a 20 minute PSVR2 show, but at least then I would know that a bigger show was right around the corner.

Still waiting on the SOCOM rumor to come true, but that wouldn't be shown at a Japanese showing anyways... sigh.

Socom was a franchise that didn’t do anything for me so I have no interest in seeing anything on that myself. Now Legend of Dragoon is a much different story. Seeing anything about that would definitely do a lot for me.

I have low expectations for this.

Well personally its a boring watch but do am excited for all Square titles. Loving Square recent strategy and JRPG push. We getting new Valkyrie Profile game which is really nice too.

Diofield looked good and co-op on returnal looks sweet. The rest was shovelware
