Thoughts on Nier: Automata Demo?

Didn't see a thread, which could be because of:

1. Not sales related
2. Not exclusive anymore so we can stop pretending to be excited about this

Anyway, for those that did check it out. Thoughts? I like it. Combat is nice. Feels like the Revengeance people are behind. Just the way it feels, character movement. But then it also features that Taro design of top down combat and 2D combat segments, which is alright. It's Taro. You should expect this shit. He can't get enough of it.

Visuals looked alright, framerate was smooth. Yeah, there wasn't a whole lot to show off, it being a demo, but I'm excited to see what the full game has in store, both story and combat-wise. Yes, we can get excited about a Taro game's combat this time around.

And music was also good. They got the same fella on board and it shows, or hears. Again, very Nier-like chanting and stuff.

Not a fan of a that dev nor am i excited for the game but i'll give this a shot, only because everyone is talking about it.

After playing the demo this game went from "looks cool" to "I must buy this". Yeah, I liked it quite a lot. The combat, the visuals, the soundtrack, everything felt just right. I especially like the soundtrack. The 2D part was pretty nicely done as well imo.

lmao and i was ignoring this game ever since it was announced. shit is damn good and the music is excellent. environment looks bland and washed out but everything else is impressive.

There's also a Gravity Rush 2 demo out. Today is demo day for PS4 owners.

Haven't played the demo but I'm really excited for it. I'm getting it on PC. I never played the first one last gen but I always wanted too even when people kept claiming it was a bit broken it looked like my kind of game.

And people were saying that demos are outdated and not needed nowdays. i would've never considered buying this game if it wasn't for the demo. Now i'll probably be getting the game on day one *unless i'm still playing Nioh when this comes out*.

i don't like it when it goes 2D and top down, however, i haven't played it myself yet.

What do you say about the 2D and top down segments?

Looks cool enough to upgrade my buy likelihood to "High," that's for sure. Combat look smooth, the boss battle looked awesome, and the music was fantastic. Still going to wait for reviews, though.

Downloaded the game and loved it. Great hack and slash.

Demo was pretty long as well.

Just played it. The combat is flashy and that's always fun, I don't care for the environment or the brown R2D2 enemies. Pretty boring looking. I doubt its a day one for me, but I'll buy it eventually.

I'm excited to try this, I'm glad to see Platinum do something worthwhile. I was worried they got to use to mediocrity making Activision licensed shovelware. Thought maybe that had something to do with Star Fox shitting the bed. I'm definitely stoked to see them return to form.

The demo was good. Some concerns I have the game or the main concern is the perspective changing. 3rd Person to side scroller is fine but to top down? Nope. The worse part about that is that its changed automatically. Like there was a section in which you were in standard TP view and it changed to top down. Outside of that, it was pretty solid.

Very disappointed with this. It's not a bad game but.. I was expecting to be closer to Bayo 2 levels of greatness but it's nowhere near. Might get it at reduced price.

I agree about the drab colors, but over all I enjoyed the demo. The controls are spot on. The graphics are nothing great, but the gameplay is. I personally enjoy that 3D, 2D side scroller, top down changes throughout the game. It's unique and fun to me. This will be a must buy for me as well.

Does anyone know if there was something I was supposed to do to use the elevators that were locked? I wasn't sure if there was a way to unlock them in the demo.

thought it was fantastic, sort of bayonetta and MGR feels from the combat. Fans of original game will feel right at home with some of the things they'll see. Also it might be just me but the Japanese voice actor of 2B sounds so familiar, as in AOT mikasa familiar. I love her voice. And them strawberry lips LMFAO

If people said Recore looked bad I cant wait to see what they say about this one visually it not spectacular but the combat is pretty fun and addictive very responsive controls. The character styling is awesome also cant wait to play more.
