Switch sold 28.8 million this past fiscal year.

PS4's best year was 20 million after almost a decade on the market.

PS5 demand is already sinking like a rock and it hasn't even been a year 🤣 They were holding lotteries for Switch 3 years out.

Whether you like it or not, Switch sales numbers already puts it at greatness, and it didn't need to lie about 4K120 capabilities and tflops to do it. It did it simply by releasing games people actually want to play.

I can't play the sales greatness, be it in 30fps or 60fps. Its only the beginning with the PS5. On the other hand, its not just ending on the Switch, it has already ended over a year ago. The greatness has extinguished, and has no chance of getting back as it once was because all the Nintendo's cards are on the Switch 2 for 2023. No point of investing time and effort on an old 5 years old console when its selling with no game support.

And Nintendo would lie if they could, but how exactly could they with a mobile system? If they were to announce 4k/120, it better have some alien tech or the system will be overtrolled before its even released.

Its good news for people trying to get one I had to go through a lot of trouble get one.

I dont even understand why morons are buying a ps5. I had ps5 from launch until this past July. I played it for the first couple of months...but the funny thing was it was ps4 games that I missed like tlou and GoT. I might have wanted to play games like returbal and Ratchet, but I couldn't stomach the price of brand new games. It just made me sick thinking about it.

Finally my bro moved out in July, and so I rebought a used ps4 with 2 games for cheap, because there was no point buying the ps5. Right now only a dumb ass would buy a ps5 and even dymber to pay scalped prices for it. If the xbox series x was going for what the ps5 goes for, that would make far more sense. Because xbox is actually compelling as a gaming console right now at this moment. Ps5 is just a sad joke, it has nothing and nothing really compelling until next year.

Ps5 makes sense in 2024...right now it's a paper weight, a brick.

We all saw what Sony had to show on the 9th: pretty much nothing. Sony gets complacent when they have leads. PS2 was super successful, then they got lazy with PS3 release. PS4 was a strong effort from Sony because the comp (360) was better in gen 7.

Now ff to today: PS5 is once again a lazy, low effort system like the PS3 was. Sony thinks they can put the Playstation division on cruise control and fall asleep at the wheel when they've had previous gen success, only to drop the ball the following generation.

Those are actually good news. Not only will scalpers stop scalping, finally, as people will finaly be able to purchase one at MSRP

Maybe I'm missing the context here, but why would you rebuy a PS4 to play PS4 games when the PS5 is backwards compatible? I'm assuming you meant to say that your brother took the PS5 with him in July? 🤔

@remiks00: well, for a couple of reasons. The ps5 has nothing worth playing at the moment except for ps4 games. Buying one now when there's no games, makes the warranty pretty much useless if it breaks. I can resell the ps4 in an year or two, make back some of the loss and put it toward a ps5. It just makes more sense to do it that way, especially when the scalpers are feasting.

No arguments there bro, I don't buy launch systems. I learned my lesson from buying the PS4 at launch due to hype/FOMO. Never again, no value from it imo. Ended up building a new PC soon after PS4 launched back then..

Cool, I hope to start seeing it on store shelves and in stock online again. I still need 2. I'm not paying scalpers what they want. Perhaps up to like maybe $150 more but even then.. I'm not so sure. I like the idea of getting it straight from the source. I don't know what the hell those scum bags did to the box.. lol.

This is excellent news for those who wanted a PS5 but weren’t able to get one because of scum of the earth scalpers.

I assume most of the diehards that wanted a PS5 ASAP no matter what already pulled the trigger and got ripped off by the scalpers. The smarter ones are waiting it out until they become more available at msrp. Its only a matter of time.
