What games are you currently hyped for?

Number 1 for me is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Haven’t been this excited to play a game in a long time (maybe even decades lol). Seeing my favorite characters come back and watching the story unfold with its twists and turns are one of the things I’m looking forward to. The combat system looks very enjoyable and the game itself is much bigger than the original. Next on the list is Stellar Blade. I’m a huge fan of the Bayonetta and Nier Automate games, and this game looks very much inspired by them. Hype train imminent! Also think Rise of the Ronin has potential. Down the road is Metaphor Refantazio, love the look and aesthetic of this game. What about you, SW? What games are currently on your hype list?

I'm just finishing a few side quests to dragons dogma,getting a decent level to take on the Dlc so i'm definitely hyped for DD2 next month...if the side quests are plenty,varied and story driven then its got a hell of a chance at GOTY.

Dragons Dogma 2... I have an outside hope it'll run OK on steam deck. If not, I'll just keep working through all the other games I keep scooping up and grab it down the road.

Is this how you cope with the situation? Interested. Its interesting to see every lemming have a very different cope mechanism. For example, dabear is currently depressed in his bed, and he refuses to go online until its official, and the heat went by. Others pretend to be all of a sudden Steam Deck mains. Its funny. I have unlimited funds, so I just go where my money takes me. If it takes me to a $5000 PC to play PS and Xbox games at the best possible performance and pixels, that is what I will do! I love wasting money. But even more than that, I love playing PS and Xbox games.

I will never waste my money on YouTube premium though. You are the only human playing games on YouTube, at a price.

A few from my list of games to keep an eye on.. lol. Most of these games are expected to release within a year or so. Sure, I'll probably only get half or less, but that's what makes deciding between games so much fun, and if I ever feel like I missed out on something I can just wait for a sale.

In order:

1. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
2. Unicorn Overlord
3. Dragon's Dogma 2

There are other games, as Monster Hunter Wilds, but we have seen so few that i prefer to avoid getting hyped about it.

Don't know if i'll get these day 1 but i'm looking forward to (in no particular order)

• Homeworld 3: 1, Cataclysm and 2 were great. The previews look interesting for this. I love the art direction. A great universe too.
• FF7 Rebirth: Hopefully the version is not too far away. Remake was surprisingly good overall so hopefully they keep it up. Fingers crossed they don't make a mess if it with the additional Ghost stuff too.
• Horizon Forbidden West: Zero dawn was surprisingly good. Good combat, nice world to explore, great visuals and a good story that was also well told. I hear Forbidden west is not quite as good but hopefully it's still a good romp.
• Ys X: As mentioned in another thread: Ys is always class. Could spark off another rampage on Japanese games
• BG3: I know it's out but I just haven't got around to playing it yet. Larian seem to be patching it heavily so I'm inclined to leave it to stew for a while longer before jumping in.
• Avowed: I generally like Obsidians work and it's set in the same world as Pillars so fingers crossed they deliver.
• Indiana Jones: Hopefully a good popcorn action romp that does the Ip proud (and better than the recent pretty crap movies at least).
• Metroid Prime 4: 'Nuff said.
• Zelda TOTK: Waiting for the Switch 2.
• Space Marine 2: STOMPY SHOOTY SLASHY SMASHY! Kill the mutant!! The first was a nice after work game in short bursts. A bit like Doom 2016, longer sessions could become a bit of a slog. Hopefully they address that in SM2. Also one day i want to play as an Orc. Maybe in an expansion. Make it a dark comedy.

FF rebirth AKA 2024 GOTY, Ronin, Unicorn Overlord, Eiyuden Chronicles and Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak (not really but I collect physical LoH games and just hyped for my collector edition). All games coming within 3 month, what a good year.

I had one, and sold it. I wouldn't be able to get used to constant sub 60fps drops. How are you even gonna play DD2 on that thing?

WH40K Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters

I wanted to play this since hearing about someone making an XCOM style WH40K game and supposedly it was awesome, but it was only on PC when it originally released. Now it's coming to Xbox Series X|S. I'm sold. Already pre-installed.

Have you tried Rogue Trader yet? Not sure if that's on console, but it's another great turn-based Warhammer RPG (basically Baldur's Gate, but Warhammer). Made by the excellent Owlcat, makers of the Pathfinder video game adaptations.

@mrbojangles25: yup, Rogue Trader is a lot of fun, I mentioned to you before I decided to start from scratch because I cheated myself abusing an XP exploit but also regret some other choices and wanted to start over. I love the accessibility of explaining the loaded lore words in the dialog and the calculations of skills/abilities tied to the character attributes. But man, the leveling system is overkill. I wish they simplified it. It's oppressively robust. I've been on a WH40K kick lately ever since getting into Darktide. I've played other WH40K titles in past like the original Dawn of War RTS on PC nearly 2 decades ago, the Space Marines game on consoles, but never bothered to learn about the world lore. I started watching YouTube lore videos after getting into Darktide and man I'm totally sucked into this world. Even started reading WH40K books. Picking up multiple WH40K games on sales to play later and I've even a few Games With Gold games like Inquisitor Martyr or that Adeptus Mechanicus strategy game, and Battle Sector. Got a full plate for all things WH40K. I'm holding off on restarting Rogue Trader until I had a shot to play Chaos Gate. For now, just grinding away at Darktide, it never gets old. Sometimes I jump in for a game or two... that turns into hours.
