What is the best fighting game released this generation so far.

Tekken 8 mainly due to killer visuals and 32+ characters. Animation of SF6 is better. Gameplay wise Tekken is better as winning requires skill while SF6 is a guessing game.

Couldn't care about any, but if i was forced to play one, i'd main SF6 because i know for a fact that it will never die out, and there's nothing worse than long q's.

All I know is I would never play any of these on PS5.

Still waiting on my Tekken 8 copy to arrive but have been checking some stuff on Twitch about it and it indeed looks great. Seems to be a lot of content in there and the story mode looks very cool. My current favourite is Street Fighter 6 though.

Yes , that is a great game.

I think you will enjoy it. The story mode was pretty dam good eventhough it's gotten pretty crazy.

Last gen and the gen before that I only played 1 fighting in each of those 2 gens. I haven't played a fighting game this gen, and most likely won't unless Sega release a Virtua Fighter game.

On a side note I did really consider SF6, I didn't buy it, maybe I will take another look when its cheap.

SF6 leaderboard has 97 out of the top 100 on PC. You dont see the first non PC player until 70 and it continues to be an ocean of PC players through all of Master rank. And Tekken is even more PC centric than SF 😂

Not sure about SF6 although Snake Eyes and Jwong have both played on PS5. Most pro gamers will play on multiple platforms and will use PC because it's easier to stream gameplay.

Out of these I bought SF6 and Tekken8

I just started playing tekken 8 but I love it.

SF6 is a good game, but I felt the roster was slim. Also, prefer the wider and varied move sets in tekken.

Strive I tried out on game pass and it's solid. But I've never been super into guilty gear.

I typically buy my fighters on console, because they are the best couch games with friends.

Then that's changed recently. SF5 was dominated by PS players for the majority of its life. I played for about 4 years and it was consistently PS players in the top 10.

It's failure to ever receive any meaningful performance update for PS4 pro or PS5 may have killed its popularity on the platform.

PC is objectively the best place for fighters with the best players on it, and people wanting EVO to switch to PC like CapCup since it's objectively superior. Ofcourse Sony won't do that though, it's pricey and they want to promote PlayStation.

The top players on SF5 and SF6 are on PC. Heck, 97 of the top 100. The reason for this is the exponentially higher frames + refresh rate, and lower input lag.

There's a 60fps cap even on PC you dunce. Frame data is linked with 60fps so unless your playing offline you are playing at 60fps regardless of what platform you're on. The input lag on all modern fighting games has been greatly reduced with virtually no difference between platforms.

I don't know if he's on PC actually. Some could be on Xbox. Fighting games have a as high of a skill cap as anything on PC. Thanks for admitting you don't play them. PC has more competitive games, scenes, and genres. Including fighters, which correct I have not played in a while. Instead I've been doing more shooters and moba lately. Doesn't make someone casual or a scrub though, that's morel likely to be a PS5 gamer as they have exponentially less esports/competitive gamers and games. Equating PC with scrubs when it has the most number of tournaments and competitive gamers is....weird.

All PS5 has is fighters as far as non casual gaming goes, and the better players are all on PC lol.

I played the game for nearly 4 years and the 8 of the top 10 wre consistently on the PS4. Of that list you posted the only one I recognized was Tourniquet( we had the same main) and he was like 17th.

I was Platinum before I left.

I would like you to look up the rankings from several years ago. It was mostly Playstation players by a wide margin. If you played SF5 for long enough you wouldn't even be debating me on this.

You do realize SF6 is full of scrubs that use " scripts" correct? Unlike most fighting games where this can easily be overcome it can't in SF 6 because they can simply setup a command to auto counter drive impact.

You didn't supply anything other then a current chart ranking on a dead game.

The vast majority of SF5 was dominated by Playstation players for the majority of its life. My guess is people migrated to PC after Capcom failed to update the game on PS4 including fixing input lag issues and not even giving a PS4 Pro update.

You have no clue what your talking about. Capcom has done nothing to squash it. It's not a minor issue in SF6 because in other fighting games they mostly just used " combo scripts ". In SF6 with the " Drive impact" mechanic you will get trounced by anyone that has this. Although it's possible to run these on consoles it's far more of a pain and much less common.

Top 10 in online doesn't translate to top 10 in tourneys. Snake Eyes, Justin Wong, , Daigo etc don't just play on PC. Many have multiple accounts on multiple platforms and will now play on PC for streaming purposes.
