MMORPG.
Genres that focus heavily on Cinematic Driven Games and not much on gameplay but games like TLOU are exceptional as I like the stealth gameplay.
Edit: I should point out I hate sports games genres with a passion. Extreme sports are okay as they add more fun than not trying to be actual sports.
SInce others do not give their reasons for their "worst" gaming genres, I will give my choices (with reasons):
a: Visual novels: The focus is more of electronic interactive novels than video games. They defeat the purpose of what a video game is supposed to be.
b: Cinematic games: These games focus on non-interactive elements than gameplay and like visual novels defeat the purpuse of what a video game is supposed to be.
As someone who had started gaming in the early 1980s when games used primitive pixelated graphics and MIDI sound, gameplay is the most important to video games. All others are secondary. Unfortunately, we are in the "Silver Age" of gaming when it is mostly gilded and a focus away from what makes a video game a video game.
Strategy. I'm just not wired for that genre. That doesn't stop me from playing it though.
Gladius, Civ 3 & 4, Heroes of Might and Magic Series to name a few.
Can't take anyone seriously when they bitch about mmorpg's. Its a god damn social rpg, what's so bad about it? You can say that ALL current mmo's are dogshit, and i would absolutely agree, but as a genre, it CAN be amazing.
As for the genre i cannot stand, its without a doubt sports titles. Soccer, nba, nfl, etc, its simply unplayable garbage that is made for people that don't play video games.
Ghost is so scared of multiplayer games.😅
you mean shitty mainstream MP games like valorant, PUBG, Battlfield, overwatch and list goes on and on?
I don't think in "good" or "bad".
But have 0 interest in racing games. Or cars in general. Hate the bastards.
There are a few genres I won't touch. MMO and Racing are two examples (I do like Mario Kart though lol).
I don't like sim games in general. I think games should choose fun snappy gameplay over realism. Even RDR2 is problematic, but I still play a game like that.

Battlefield is not a shitty IP. BF2042 is the shitty one, but its not like you were playing bf2, bf3, bc2 or bf4.
Anything turn based.
I assume strategy games like Civilization and tactical RPGs like Fire Emblem?
Yes, one of the issues I have with turned-based games of any genre is that they are based on stats and chance, not based on skills. That mean that if I want to defeat that boss character, I need my character or party to reach a certain level or equip them with strong weapons or magic to defeat him. No skill is required. Another issue I have with turned-based games is how players and the enemy AI need to take turns during battles. I find that unrealistic and prefer that battles be fought in real-time where skills determine the outcome.
I used to enjoy turned-based games going back to the first Final Fantasy game on the NES, but after completing Fire Emblem Engage a few months ago, I just lost interest in them. Other than the issues I have with these games, the other issue is the grind I am forced to do so my character or party can reach a level needed to survive.

Yes, I prefer quick decision making and skill. I don't like forced pauses in gameplay and all the behind the scenes stats. I don't want to play a spreadsheet simulator. Like you said, the whole taking turns thing is ridiculous. Hey, let me attack you while you just stand there and take it and then I will do the same.
Talk about immersion breaking. I think the game that completely put me off from anything turn based and tactical was the original X-COM back in the day. I love aliens and sci-fi, but as soon as I couldn't move because I ran out of 'time units', I was like....
RTS's. I played Starcraft a few times and I disliked it. I have no desire to go back to them. Even Halo Wars doesn't interest me, and I'm a huge Halo fan.
I typically don't pay attention to online FPS games, service games, or platformers. It's not that I consider them bad games, but my free time is valuable to me, and those genres typically soak up alot of free time and don't really give me any substantial takeaway from playing them.
Way too many to count and there are usually, a few exceptions to the rule ... i mean i don't like FPS, but i like the Bioshock franchise. I also don't like Roguelike, but i love Hades ... so yeah.
Point and click puzzle-adventures, Battle Royales like PUBG/Fortnite, Roguelikes/lites, Strategy games/RTS, MOBAs like Dota 2/LoL and ACTUAL "movie" games aka TWD, Heavy Rain, Detroit, etc, etc... although I can like some exceptions like The Wolf Among Us and the 1st season of Life is Strange
Honestly, movie games. Sony's specialty.
Cinematic games and movie games are two very different things. Sony specializes in the first, not the second, outside of David Cage's games that arent a part of Sony, despite having exclusivity contracts in the past btw
Cinematic games do focus on story and cinematic driven moments but they do present some level of gameplay. Movie games have barely any gameplay and are more like visual novels, something like Heavy Rain or The Walking Dead

I used to play racers. now dont know any racer release and when release except gran turismo movie just release.
beside we can all agree that movie game is worst gaming genre.
I don't hate MMORPGs, I just avoid them because I know what a time drain they'll be, and I love gaming too much to lock myself down on just one game.
Competitive MP too, I avoid it these days. Many just don't feel fun for casual play, as more committed players tend to dominate those spaces. I've no doubt I can be more formidable in them by putting more and more time into them, but then it's the same consideration I have against MMOs and not wanting to tie myself down. These days I much more prefer online MP that's co-op or PvE designed.
I won't knock such gameplay modes and styles, just admittedly they're not for me at this time.
I'm also put off by games that want me to commit like 100+ hours into them, regardless of genre. I'll still play such games, but I'll play them between much less meatier games.
I am shit at fighting games. I do like them, I like watching them - I even like playing them to an extent but I am not very good.
Most impressive thing I ever did in a fighting game was at a Smash tournament, I hit and took a stock from someone with a Ganon neutral B in a real match. He was completely stunned that I read him so well but in reality, I just got really lucky. He was trying to space me with Lucina, any way he noticed I was using a Ganon neutral B and crossed over - bad luck for him it was a grounded Ganon neutral B and I span, grounded meaning I had super armor and he hit me but if you're grounded it doesn't interrupt this move in Ultimate. He crossed over right into my punch and I almost burst out laughing but I felt a little bad for the kid.
Other than that, I've tried playing Street Fighter online but I am total noob that gets beaten by cheese tactics. Obviously if you are getting beaten by cheese tactics you are probably not very good as the game is alot deeper than just being spammed.
Mortal Kombat 11 I could not sit around and play all day either. It does get the blood flowing but I'm afraid I'm gonna pop a blood vessel at times, it's just really intense and if I'm not fully focused I don't play very well.
Walking simulators. My goodness.
This. Or whatever genre What Remains of Edith Fitch is(or "games" similar to it.)
Sports games. Bores me to tears, just like real life. Meaningless statistics, the pace of a slug….I’d rather watch paint dry. Although I did enjoy some stuff back in the day like NBA Jam, Blades of Steel and those old Neo Geo games (like Baseball Stars). But now they’re appealing too much to realism, not to mention have been ruined by rampant monetization.
Aside that, MMOs. Games are gutted to be able to appeal to the LCD and accommodate everyone. Boring and soulless. Although again, exceptions such as Day Z apply, though it’s a bit of a stretch to qualify it as a MMO.
Battle Royale
Didn't like Fortnite, didn't like PUBG, didn't like Warzone and the only reason I liked Battlefield Firestorm was because it somewhat resembled the Battlefield I loved and had duo's (for about two days) and squads.
Even at the price of free these things still aren't worth it to me.
