What system do you look forward to playing the most in 2024?

Top two contenders for me are PS5 and Switch 2. I'm thinking for Switch 2 we will get a brand new 3D Mario game which will hopefully bring me back to the good ol' days of Super Mario 64 (NOT Odyssey). I'm also thinking we'll get enhanced versions of certain games. I think Bayonetta 3 definitely needs one. Same with Tears of the Kingdom. I'm also just excited for new hardware. As for PS5, I think PS5 will have a good year. We're getting Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth which looks fantastic so far. Marvel's Wolverine is also slated for 2024. There are also games that were announced some time ago that I think we'll get an update on, like Stellar Blade, Death Stranding 2, Silent Hill 2 Remake. Sony also has been really quiet on their current projects, so I think we'll get some cool announcements there too. Also, there's the PS5 Pro, which people seem to think are happening. So overall, my vote goes to PS5! As for Xbox.. nothing really stands out to me except Fable. That would be cool! Would also be great to hear on Perfect Dark. Xbox is getting Metaphor: ReFantazio, but that's also coming to PS5.

I guess I'll go with SuperMighty XSX Monsterbox but only because BS Jive has no games. lolol :P

Analogue 3D, already started scoring an N64 game cheap here and there in preparation.

Ultimately Switch, PS4/5 turned into dust collectors.

Probably get a Steam Deck as it shares lib with PC and generally just, really like handhelds.

Deck is basically a portable PC. Meaning it's huge, but it also means it can play most of your steam library without any issue.

There are so many smaller and older games I play on my Deck and it's just a great companion to any console or PC really.

It weighs more than a Switch for sure, but I can hold it for way longer as its made more ergonomically.

Weight don't care about, fine. With the Switch is the design was deeply uncomfortable. Had to buy a third party plastic mold.

As long as the Deck is comfy the bulky nature and weight is eh. Not taking it on a bus or outside, be for playing shit in bed or out the back.

Be sure to get the 256GB or 512GB model. Don't get the 64GB model unless you want to do the SSD upgrade yourself.

Havent baught myself a console since the 360/PS3, so PC.

PS5 largely due to the PSVR2. I'm hoping to have enough time and money to get one next year, but sadly I may have to wait longer.

Ill be playing the Switch the most. I still have a bunch of games to play.

Hoping that all systems will have reason enough for me to play equally. 🤷‍♂️

Having said that though it’ll probably be my XSX thanks to Game Pass. 😎

Probably the XSX. I keep meaning to buy a PS5 but keep holding off. My NS Light would be played the second most frequently.

Switch and/or Switch 2 wins for me. There are still games from 2023 I need to play on my Switch.

I am also looking forward to playing some of the games MS has lines up assuming they actually release this year.

PS5 has FF7 Rebirth and Wolverine I am looking forward to. I am also really excited for Ghost of Tsushima 2, but it hasn't even been officially released.

From what i know now: PC. Soooooo many games. If i didnt buy a single game next year....still soooo many games. I have around 3 Total war games which, alone, could take up a year. Havent played BG3 and Starfield yet. Keeping an eye on Forza also.

I do have a list for the ol Switch also. I think i will go for one final raid around Christmas for games like TOTK, Luigis Mansion 3, Pikmin 4 (i may also get Pikmin 2 just cause), Mario and Rabbids 2 and a few other bits and bobs. But i may hold off on actually playing them until i see what the story is with playing Switch games on the Switch 2.

Hard to say at the moment whether i'll get a Switch 2 in 2024 though (assuming it releases then). I generally wait until around 5 games come out that I want to play before i get a console now. But if MP4 is released Day 1...I can't be held responsible for my actions frankly.

.....No i don't need to get Metroid Prime Remastered.....i have the trilogy on my Wii U. I don't need it.

Steam Deck and Switch will be my jam this year again. Will likely avoid any type of mad rush for new hardware (or software) and pick my spots. It's made the hobby more enjoyable to slow it down, spread it out and play games new and old when I feel it, rsther than staying on the front edge of the hobby. Having the pc landscape and Nintendo seems like the best play. Being on the go is a big cherry on top.

I'm anticipating playing the Switch more due to the new Peach game coming out that year, but you just never know tbh. It just depends on my mood tbh. Like, a few weeks ago, I was really playing my PC. Though lately, I've not been gaming on my PC at all. I've just been on the Switch, and playing Breath of the Wild. I've not even touched Pokemon these last few days tbh.

Lets be real, you're permanently on a Nintendo system. Switch or no Switch, it says Nintendo on the system you're using😎

PS5 because that is all I have. I also own a Switch but it is not worth mentioning.

Omega’s post reminds me I have a few PSVR2 games to look forward to, for example, a WW II plane fighter game, Medieval Dynasty. I am also looking forward to Wolverine. I also have a backlog.

What's so great coming out on Switch & PS5 next year?

Xbox Series X|S, it's my primary. So all multiplatforms there and of course its exclusives, and all that other great stuff that comes to Game Pass.

PS5 next, going to work off some of those still need to play games, one step at a time. Stoked for when Silent Hill 2 comes out though. Maybe the one new release for PS5 I decide to pick up, for now I make due with PS Plus Premium, lot of good stuff there. The content drip is slow but there's lots there I still need to play anyways.

My Switch is even more neglected but there's loads I wanna play on it. Still need the latest Zelda and Pinkmin and that new Mario looks dope too. But even then I still got blacklist of other stuff I have yet to get through too, the last Metroid for instance, Bayonetta 3 still. I should work on that stuff first.

I mean, if Switch 2 would release in 2024, there'd be like two games that are worth to play. On PC, there'd be a couple thousand.

@last_lap: there's nothing intresting on Xbox. They haven't announced the Switch 2 yet. I was talking about Switch 2 btw not Switch

For me, probably the Xbox Series X for 99% of my gaming. It's looking like the Xbox Series X is going to have another amazing year. From Flight Simulator 2024, Hellblade 2, Avowed, Ark 2, Stalker 2, 33 Immortals, Towerborne, and replaced. Matt Booty also said there are some exclusives coming in 2024 that are not announced.

Sadly, for our PS5, they really don't have anything in 2024. It is looking like Wolverine is 2025. Beyond that, there is nothing else from PlayStation Studios for the next year or two.

So Xbox is the way to go.
