No, Microsoft better make some great first party games first if they want to be in 1st place or else they will stay in last place if they don't/can't. They barely made any great games this gen. First things first, they have to start making and releasing great games.

MS is playing an ecosystem war, one which consoles are no doubt a part of, but not the whole enchilada. They want to sell Game Pass build a library people can see the value offered, make it accessible across devices, and if they can't get that, they want to sell their games to a number of PC services, and some games on other consoles themselves.

Im sure everything will continue to be the same. Microsoft will still turn a massive profit in the game space, jobless teenagers with no income forced into one console allegiance will act like they are on a part of a participation team nobody cares about, and adults with disposable income and actual options will continue to buy the consoles they want and/or get a PC and look down on the kids and their petty prattle.

What is "win the console wars" even mean anymore? Will Microsoft make more money than Sony in their game division because they bought Activision? I dunno? I don't expect Microsoft to sell more pieces of hardware, but I expect them to print money. They own elder scrolls, fallout, call of duty, Diablo, Minecraft.... I mean, they've got huge franchises to make money with. Likely much of that money will come from Sony Playstation owners.

Now that all the lems here pretty much stated that the Xbox is the new sega Dreamcast , looks like MS and Sony will make money off of COD . Since Sony made 800mil last year with just COD stuff thru Playstation Network .

I don't know. I think having bottomless pockets helps, but I still don't know if I trust MS to make great games. They don't seem to be in the business of making great games and I don't know that they can begin to catch up until they learn how.

GP as a service has been nice though. I love it for playing things like The Medium, A Plague Tale, or various indies.

I hope this is a war that never ends and I hope that MS does prove me wrong and begins to develop more fantastic games.

They have to start making contacts for this not just for games, movie industry too. I don’t understand how anyone can cheer for this deal. All existing IPs and games that they are working on before purchase should be 3dr party for the next 100 years. All new IPs they create after the purchase should be exclusive.

There needed to be a shake up - the game had a huge lag in post-launch content. And, it was missing features at launch. Still, the game is quite simply awesome. So much fun to play, so much replay value.

There is truth in this post. Gamepass revenue comes from revenue over time (live service, microtransactions) not from having €70 games be free on the service day one.

Gamers just need to be smarter and stop supporting Halo cuz it's a big franchise and just support games like Clockwork Revolution instead.

The whole game can be considered as a LAG. Its developer is also a LAG. Infinite is nothing else but a microtransaction hell of a video game.

A year and a half later, and this game still lives in your head for free.

I have played the most important portion of the game, which is its pvp, and it was dogwater. And plenty have played the rest here on SW, and found it to be an absolute disaster of a video game.

Replying to me with the constant "you haven't played it, so your opinion has no value" is just a way of coping with this abysmal video game.

I can imagine a world where the majority are more excited about Xbox than Playstation- heck it happened for a few years there with the 360. But I don't think it's gonna happen this gen.
