Would an Uncharted reboot featuring Nathan Drakes daughter be better than Tomb Raider?

The Uncharted franchise came to a conclusion in 2016 with Uncharted 4. At its peak, Uncharted was a big franchise for Sony, but they know not to drag things along (unlike some companies 😮) To this date, Nathan Drake is one of gaming’s most popular characters. We know the franchise essentially ends with Nathan and Elena telling their daughter about their past. Sort of a hint of where the franchise could go next. Which got me thinking 🤔 Would an Uncharted reboot featuring Nathan Drake’s daughter be better than Tomb Raider? I don’t think why not! But it’s hard to say if Naughty Dog would be involved.

What an odd thread this is. The answer is simply no! And for the record, I would focus on Drake's brother as the new main Uncharted.

Doubtful. I preferred the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy over the Uncharted games.

Production value-wise, yes. Though Tomb Raider is more of a semi-open-world game. So it wouldn't really be like a Tomb Raider competitor - it would be basically be out to outdo its predecessors.

It might be an ok game but the franchise doesn't need a reboot. I'd rather see a new IP and/or TLOU3 from ND and I think they know most people would agree.

4 Decent movies, somebody should make them into games,like Xbox studios are with Indiana Jones,poor nathan whoever and Lara whatever haven't got a look-in in the popularity stakes

Naughty Dog should stop introducing new characters, after Amy Hennig left all of them have sucked big time.

For the love of god, don't reboot this trash ass series. We already have the shitty Horizon and the Spiderman series that Sony wastes years of talent on.

While I enjoyed both series, I hate comparing them because they feel quite different to me. "Treasure hunting" is why we compare them, I guess. I preferred the Tomb Raider games, but I wouldn't want the Uncharted ones to try and mimic those either.

However, I think it's a pretty good idea if they made a nice time jump. I'd happily play them.

I wouldn't say better or worse. While the same basic concept, each series focuses on different things. Personally prefer Tomb Raider because those had better puzzles and platforming.

Naughty Dog are one of the four god tier developers next to From Software, Kojima Productions and Rockstar North.

Uncharted is the video game version of tylenol PM. I'm playing quantum break right now and all I keep thinking is how this is an uncharted movie game with more depth and more fun gameplay. It's a total head scratcher how uncharted games score above a 6.

To be honest, I forgot about Sir Frances Drake era. If Naughty Dogs has room for a prequel to Sir Frances Drake, I'd be interested checking it out. Just the fact the franchise doesn't need a sequel... especially not Drake's daughter.

I find that very hard to believe seeing that only the shooting is the only remote thing that both Uncharted and the original Tomb Raider games shares. To me, the reboot was more inspired by Uncharted than the other way around due to the reboot basically becoming a cinematic driven experience just like Uncharted to the point where some of the fans of the ”OG” games called the reboot a “poor man’s Uncharted“.

Uncharted is a third person action adventure with a treasure hunter who raids tombs, shoot guns, solves puzzles, and hangs on to ledges. Sound familiar? Uncharted was very much born out of Tomb Raider. Don't be silly or naive.

Uncharted was supposed to control like Tomb Raider but during the last 6 months of production they shifted, with Gears of War as main inspiration. Both titles heavily influenced Uncharted.

And yeah, regarding Quantum Break, that's a good example of the uphill battle Microsoft has regarding their brand perception, not just with the general public but probably moreso with gaming Media. It's a pretty cool game. Not a GOAT but good fun and I'll take it over U4. Anyway, certainly not a 10/10 Vs a 6/10.

They reboot the series, gameplay is essentially the same, but you're playing as a strong women that is also lesbian, btw. She then has to save her gf😁

I guess that would be logical after how 4 ended. I wouldn’t mind. I love uncharted and want more 😁!

However I don’t get how anyone could predict if it will be better or worse than TR. So far I do prefer Uncharted. The tedious filler content in TR hurts its pacing more than the overly long climbing sections in Uncharted.

There is not nearly enough provided information in the context of this question to form an answer.

How could anyone possibly answer if it would be better than Tomb Raider since it’s imaginary? Silly.

As for if they should do it, no I don’t think so. It’s ok for games or franchises to end. It’s the natural order and allows for new things to come along.
