Xbox Series X rear port reveal from it's prototype leak!

Not much to say other then the fact it has HDMI & 3 USB. Oh and no USB-C.

If there's one thing to be said about this, it's that those are definitely some serious ports. As far as I can tell, there's no HDMI pass thru. All in all, I definitely hope MS go really creative with LE version.

Xbox One X has a nice design. Nice and sleek.

I don't get it, I mean you plug the sucker in, put a disk in it and play a game. The design is the last thing you should be worried about.

As much as I love those games, this Mortal Kombat Trilogy remaster doesn't do much for me. The one that came out years ago for PC showed me how flawed those games actually were, so limited. I'll probably play a few rounds and then get bored. Maybe the one good thing that can come from this news, gamers will appreciate MK11 much more.

That spdif port needs to go. Who is using this inferior output these days?

Indeed those are obsolete. The specification does not support HD audio formats like Atmos.

@goldenelementxl: I'm using one to connect my upstairs x1 to a soundbar. They are getting old, but people still have old sound systems...

Nice design , but no usb-C? Are we still in the year of 2014? Come on MS, even the Nintendo Switch has USB-C

What are you talking about? USB-C only describes the "receiving" end. The Switch has one because it's the receiving one when being charged. The ones on the dock are the exact same

Definitely looks a pc tower I think both console this generation were boring designs. Interested to see if Sony can keep the size down on ps5.

Like I said, even the Switch has USB-C and you can try to damage control that all you want, but doesn't change the fact that it has a USB C port.

Exhaust fan at the top, i'd assume. It had a grill in the reveal.

Yup. It's probably going to have one big fan near the top where air is vented out and the bottom vent brings air in.

What would be even cooler is if it takes advantage of natural convection at idle or under low load. Natural convection is just the movement of air due to gravity. Hot air is lighter than cold air, so it's natural tendency to rise could have the same effect as a fan. All this is to say: maybe it will be super quiet under certain conditions.

na dude the PS2 looks way better than this console and mines still working after 20+ years it took heat like a champ Microsoft has no idea how to build a console

You are such a dumb-dumb lol. What is at the opposite end of a USB-C cable? The Switch has it for charging purposes. It's much lower profile.

DF said it's an HDMI 2.1 (up to 8K) which is what I meant by that. Not much of a serious port but at least it's their on XSX.

HDMI 2.0 is the reason no second HDMI which is also good news for XSX gamers.

Yeah, we can't even hit a consistent 4K/60 at this point. It's important to bring in new tech, and unlock the ability for 4K/120. No way we'll hit 8K/60 anytime soon.
