For reasons best known to Sony, the best thing at E3 was the longer version of its E3 Uncharted 4 demo that it didn't show at the conference. Behind closed doors, an extended version of the truck chase continued the sequence and raised the bar so high it might well break all other games.

What happens is impossible to describe without falling into hyperbole because holy Christ I nearly lost my shit, with gameplay that almost seemed to be mocking your ability to deal with it - piling sequence onto sequence, and building the pace and action up to to a level that's almost impossible to comprehend without seeing it. Nothing else out there can compete with what I saw: there's honestly a world before that demo and world after.

have we ever seen reporters blown away like this from a pc game ? noooo we didn't LOL

So why go with the "regular" gameplay for the show?

Oh yeah we have to build hype here. Got it.

I wish it was a PC only game, then it may look and perform like ND said in '13....now we have downgraded graphics and a "target" of 30fps

@lglz1337: You should have included the quote from GiantBomb on how Uncharted 4 is still the same on-rails shooting at bullet sponge enemies game.

Straight the GiantBomb video "it's largely on Rails". Four hour long 30 fps QTE set-piece movie games. UC2, UC3, and TLOU were also supposed to be gfx kings, btw.

Better luck next gen, continue on 2nd place warrior.

Are you that insecure about your own gamng platform of choice that you have to constantly bring up the PC?

Better hardware allows better graphics...just get over it already.

If the PS4 is so strong why couldn't it run the game at 60fps?

So this thread isn't about gfx?I could have sworn 99% of cow threads are about gfx these days, due to PC being so far ahead for actual scores/games.

All those games were downgraded and failed to beat PC for "gfx king". Cows said they would.

Of course you have not, you're a raging fanboy, you would never admit it if you did.....

Uncharted 4 does indeed look fantastic but it looks fantastiic within it's limitations of the console and not everyone is as impressed with these overly cinematic experiences as you are, i would always take open freeform experiences like Arma 3 and Total War etc any day of the week and i do it while running my games across 3 monitors (5960x1080) at ultra settings,it's great that you like it but i will always prefer a higher framerate and a high fidelity image combined with great and complex game mechanics/systems over these linear cinematic experiences any day of the week, after gaming for 31 years i have had my fill of those linear types of games although i still do enjoy some from time to time, but never enough to loose my shit over it.

Sorry but you are not convincing me personally.

on a closed system devs has the ability to lock games at certain FPS, if a dev wants his game 60fps he can do it, if a dev wants to go full throttle he will pick 30fps.

if fps fluctuate this is because of bad optimization.

pc's however are open with different setups, bugs, background crap, drivers bla bla bla you got it ?

It's always great to listen to people talk about the magic number "60" as though it were a bellwether for adequacy.

Seriously, 60 FPS in a third person shooter? It'd look terrible. Why does everyone want to build a game as though it were first person shooter?

I don't know if you're joking or not, but there's a world of difference between 30fps and 60fps. It's a shame that so many games are sacrificing performance for graphics.

These reporters have been doing this since early last gen for Sony titles. Yet none of those games became close to dethroning PC.

Let the downgrades come.

That's my point. Third person shooters are more enviro-centric than first person shooters. As such, 30FPS is more appropriate to maintain the presentation. While I'm sure that everyone wants more efficient performance--regardless of genre--they don't all have the same operational necessities of a first person format. To suggest otherwise is more than a little elitist.

I don't know if you're joking or not, but there's a world of difference between 30fps and 60fps. It's a shame that so many games are sacrificing performance for graphics.

That's my point. Third person shooters are more enviro-centric than first person shooters. As such, 30FPS is more appropriate to maintain the presentation. While I'm sure that everyone wants a more efficient performance--regardless of genre--they don't all have the same operational necessities of a first person format. To suggest otherwise is more than a little elitist.

Denial is a river in Egypt.......

There maybe a lesser difference when using a controller but when using a mouse 30fps is preferable over 60fps 0% of the time for any genres short of turn based strategy games.

Not agreeing with your ignorance is not being elitist......

It's always great to listen to people talk about the magic number "60" as though it were a bellwether for adequacy.

Seriously, 60 FPS in a third person shooter? It'd look terrible. Why does everyone want to build a game as though it were first person shooter?

how is it more appropriate?

"Third person shooters are more enviro-centric than first person shooters."

Uncharted, and just about every other TPS out there, is primarily about exhibition. You obviously have conflict and gunplay, but the arena tends to be more concerned with the venue than with the objectives. You can certainly make a routine out of dispensing your enemies as quickly as possible, but that's not exactly the draw of the game.....or is it the implicit claim that all games conform to that standard. If so, I disagree.

You are implying that 60fps is all about fast movement....

What ridiculous reasoning to justiify a lower framerate....you don't even realise what nonsense you are spouting

Uncharted, and just about every other TPS out there, is primarily about exhibition / make a routine out of dispensing your enemies as quickly as possible

You talk as if you think a higher framerate makes the game run faster and only works when shooting guns........yet it just simply gives you a smoother and more responsive experience in ALL cases and you are actually trying to tell us that it is worse?..........you are so far off base you lost the field.
