Prove that raw power can't do anything if there's not someone good enough to use that power.

Prove that you really need to invest on your ips to make them worthwhile.

Prove that the bar can be set higher even with "weak hardware".

And prove that exclusives still matter.

Well I think people are more forgivable of frame-rate issues in open world console games than in other genres. I certainly don't believe a 2D platformer with a sketchy frame-rate would fair better.

I think it depends on the genre; fighting games and racing games for instance require precision that can't really be lost.

They prove Microsoft sucks at making exclusives lol.

Console exclusives are like releasing a great movie that is only available on VHS. The quality is not there.

@calvincfb: I will be playing God of War on my PS4 Pro on performance mode. Unfortunately, it is a variable frame rate and not a solid 60fps. This would not be an issue if the game was available on PC.

Zelda has nothing but major FPS drops, copy and paste shrines, empty world and probably the worst implementation of weapon degradation. People have ultra low standards.

FPS drops are not a qualifer for me to the question of fun.

But you know, the biggest problem with PC master race is that if the game isn't "muh ultra settings 4K 60fps" they can't enjoy it and that's really sad. Imagine losing all those good times and experiences just because, you know, it does not meet their criteria.

It's better do have "low standards" and have more fun than spending $1000 and not being able to play the best games there are OR dismiss them because resolution of fps.

@calvincfb: Frame rate matters a lot. It directly impacts the feel of the game. Technical shortcomings ruin the immersion.

Like I said before, I have the consoles for exclusives. So, I don't have to wait on any games. Also, Breath of the Wild is available on PC. It plays at 60fps and you can even disable weapon degradation. :)

OOT, i didn't have standards back then, i was 11 in 1996, which i believe N64 came out. Besides OOT is still the better game, i do not like the direction the new Zelda has taken.

Single player exclusives have always driven the industry. Nitnendo would not have built an empire without them and Sony would not have created the greatest brand in gaming without them.

Outside of Turn 10, I can't think of any other internal studio they have that has consistently released high quality IPs.

Bungie is long gone and Gears was only outstanding when it was under Epic Games. As soon as MS took control of both Gears and Halo both series started to suffer in quality.
