@xxninja666xx: try Gothic. Open world, sanbox. You just have to run with community patches to enjoy. But, pretty good once it's patched up.

Pokémon Go will outlive Mario. My son beat Mario in a few hours. Months later, he still plays Pokémon!

@Comic_Capers: Highly recommend Thermaltake as a laptop cooler. I've had a few gaming laptops. All of them would overheat and shutdown, especially when I used them on my lap or tables with table clothes. Those surfaces block the fans on the bottom and as a result the laptops would overheat. Maybe just my luck, but ever since I started using laptop coolers - no heat issues, ever.

I have this one on my son's laptop: http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Inches-Massive-Notebook-CL-N003-PL14BL-/dp/B00J0O05WA/ref=sr_1_12?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1454288927&sr=1-12&keywords=laptop+cooler&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011%2Cp_72%3A1248879011%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A4018938011

Good luck!

You mentioned that you like rpg's, but haven't said what you have played. Have you played Skyrim?

@robokill: my list: Sacred, Sacred2, Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Dungeon Siege 1&2, Torchlight 1&2, Might and Magic, Temple of Elemental Evil, Neverwinter Nights 1&2, Ultima series, and Arx Fatalis. Play them all and you are good for 1000+ hours!

@watchy123: My XBone bricked on an update the week before XMas. I called MS and opted to have a hold placed in my credit card. MS had a replacement shipped to me in 4 days and I sent the defective unit back the day after I received the replacement. As long as you return within 14 days, MS does not charge your card. If you choose the option to not have a hold placed on your card, I've heard it takes several weeks.

Both are on Good Old Games (GoG) and should support both Windows 7 & 8. Steam has these too, but they do not list Win 7/8. I'd go with GoG if I had to choose between the two for compatibility.

Check out the Spellforce or King's Bounty series. They are both a RTS and RPG in one and should eat up a lot of time.
