Also good review (like info about weather actually having an effect on the player depending on what one wears or one does), however I'll politely disagree with the notion that weapon + enemy mastery is unattainable.
Nioh, the Souls series, DMC, Bayonetta and similar games in general have shown me that as long as the combat system is balanced properly (which seems to be the case) mastery is more than achievable. It may not be easy to do so of course (and that I assume is the whole point) but it's achievable in any case.
Of course, I'm yet to play this one so it may be the exception that confirms the rule.

People. Its an 8. Out of 10. Do some of you understand how a damn review scale even works? That means this game got a review that most certainly puts it in the top tier of games reviewed by GameSpot (in any particular year).
8/10 =/= crap. Sure its not a 9 or even a 10, but those are rare as is. Be happy that a game that took so damn long to make (announced in 2006), changed hands, changed focus, changed what it wanted to be so much over the years is good enough to even warrant an 8 but most important of all, any positivity whatsoever. Most games that go through this mess end up an actual literal mess.
