I usually don't comment on reviews, but this one was just objectively awful. You praise the game in many aspects in exploration, presentation, and combat. You go on to criticize the graphics and development costs, when this had a lot of time go into it but also was designed for the PS3, you need to take that into consideration, not see this as a PS4 game. Also, why change something that isn't broken? It's a JRPG, they're supposed to be formulaic. Based off what you said, I would give it at least a 7.5 (but yeah, Gamespot's scale).
The score is about right, although, I would give it an extra .5 for non J-Pop or Anime fans, because it has a lot of positives that outrank the negatives.
If you are J-Pop or Anime fan, get this game, get it NOW!
Ugh, it just pisses me off because a lot of the complaints they addressed and Graces is fixed here, and then they just find something new to complain about.
- Story needs two playthroughs: No, it doesn't, they explain to you what happens during the two's sides, it isn't hard to comprehend.
- Shop upgrades dampen exploration: This is even more crap, shops actually engage you to find items through sidequests to get more points from them to upgrade them.
- Lack of Dungeons: I'm not commenting on that, the world maps routes/trails and the actually places are plentiful.
Also, the same reviewer game Divekick a 7. I played both and am an avid FGC participant, and Divekick is NOT a 7. This should be an 8 maybe 8.5. Why does she keep getting JRPGs anyways, she rated all of the ones she has done below 7s with the exception of Etrian Odyssey IV.
