I left Gamespot back in 2013 when they did that major change to the layout and interface (and even complained about it right when they did it here: https://www.gamespot.com/forums/bug-reporting-feedback-1000006/is-there-any-way-for-gamespot-to-bring-the-old-lay-30963424/), as did many other users for the same reason. I figured there'd be no hope for me or many others to return unless they brought back some semblance of the old layout, not to mention unions, so I just left for IGN and other sites and hardly looked back. But coming back all these years later it seems that's still not the case. Hardly anyone responds to any of these threads, many of which on the 1st page haven't received responses in over a month.

I remember when the off-topic board was so much fun, people nearly always responded to your thread in rather short periods of time even if it was a dumb one (and I posted many of those). Now it's just deserted. Oh well.

Not to sound like a hater but let's keep it real, Xbox One basically flopped...40M consoles compared to PS4's 110M and even the Nintendo Switch outsold it already despite coming out 3 years later. It has very few exclusive titles to speak of, at least ones that are acclaimed by critics/users. MS is yet again forced to rely on old IPs (i.e. Halo 6, Gears 5) instead of innovating, and their attempts to innovate are met with little interest and poor reception.

Then the Xbox Series X reveal and its "gameplay" demonstration hastened the end to whatever hype was left for it. Even if Halo Infinite looked polished and didn't need to be pushed back to next year, there are almost no other upcoming Xbox Series X games that people are looking forward to. Yes I know some of you will point out "Well I'm excited for this game" "I look forward to that game" I'm sure you do, but there are still very few games that have a ton of people hyped for, and not nearly as many as the dozens of PS5 titles that are already building immense hype.

I'm hardly a Playstation shill or fanboy; even compared to Nintendo, Xbox is falling behind in exclusive games and units. Even compared to its preceding Xbox 360, which I owned, Xbox One sold HALF as many units, most of which rode off the success of the 360. But since Xbox One was hardly a success, Xbox Series X has little inertia to carry it. So honestly, is there ANY real hype for the Xbox Series X? Will it sell half as many units as the Xbox One did, or about 20M in its lifespan? Seriously, you never really hear people talking about its games or release date or when they'll get to pre-order it. I've heard plenty of that for PS5 though.

@waahahah: and you BELIEVE it’s ok to discriminate against blacks. /discussion

I believe that its ok to discriminate if probability suggests it makes you safer. We discriminate on a regular bases for many reasons and race while not the best indicator of characteristics... there are correlations between race and characteristics.

Yeah...you're CLEARLY not racist dude....

It doesn't matter if you're advocating it or not. You're still condoning it, and saying it's justified. That alone is racist. Seriously, how old are you?

I'm not condoning racism. I just don't agree that having measureless differences between groups and using that information in a productive manner is racist.

You LITERALLY condoned racial discrimination, which is (wait for it) racist.

Why, why, why is this so hard for you to get????

I just disagree with how you view racism and I don't care. If racism is only discrimination based on race any discussion about race and what we can do to help or protect our selves from groups is racist. Racism requires a belief about race, not just any kind of racial discrimination. The dictionary doesn't have distinct meanings listed... Racism requires an underlying belief as a motivation.

I'm completely speechless...you clearly have no clue what racism is or what it encompasses. You're almost impossible to reason with and it almost seems like you're in denial. Like you know what you're saying is absolutely racist but don't want to admit it.

Can you just admit that you're discriminating based on race?

Well that is stupid... giving examples of discrimination to illustrate points about the motivations isn't the same as discriminating. I neither own a business or an apartment complex, I'm not a member of law enforcement using profiling... or am apart of any thing that affirmative action effects.

But you admitted it's OK to discriminate based on race-based statistics...

And that doesn't mean I'm advocating for people to do it without extremely good reason to do so. I don't think its immoral if you have statistics to back up your priority of choices. Because the entire fucking world works when you use statistics to prioritize correctly. If race has a large enough consequences then discrimination isn't the only probably, there are community differences that have to be tackled one way or the other.

It doesn't matter if you're advocating it or not. You're still condoning it, and saying it's justified. That alone is racist. Seriously, how old are you?
