Great news. It really looks like Iwata's plan to use mobile to steer gamers to Nintendo games and machines really paid off. Even Pokken Tournament is over a million units.

Well the sign after Scorpio is Sagittarius, so I'll guess that.

I might have to pick up a couple deals here. But I already got SMB3 for free thanks to My Nintendo coins. Hmm...

@catsimboy: If that were true then why were people still asking for Gamecube controllers for Smash U? Pro controllers exist. Lets face it. People want those controllers because its all they know for Smash. They loved it during the Melee era and they will always love them. This is the best solution possible until they can finally let go of GCN controllers.

@Xristophoros: Indeed I do. I also have owned a 360, OG Xbox, PS3, PS2, PS1, PSP, PC, 3DO, and others. Its not like I'm a Nintendo only gamer. I don't know where you guys get that from. I wouldn't be shocked in the least if I've owned more consoles than you do.

I won't lie I'm intrigued. I don't think I'll be doubling down on Scorpio but the base S model is really nice looking. I'm fighting temptation to buy it.

This might not be a bad idea. Look at all the peripherals that Nintendo has to put out to appease their fans. There's still people who are clinging to controllers from 2001 like they're the only way to play Smash. Instead of having to make their game work on ancient controllers, they could just punch out these parts, and BOOM! You got a GCN controller.

This would be awesome for their VC library. You'd be using controls identical to what you used on the original consoles. Instead of having to manufacture controllers from across 6 gens, they can make these. I know people will try to look at this in a negative light, but this might be the first real solution to having access to games from multiple consoles, but only having one controller solution. Way to go Nintendo!

I don't see it happening. I certainly don't see them win. The only one who really wins is the lawyers.

I'll try it out. I generally hate 2D Metroids. (yes I'm a blasphemer.) But I'm always down to support indies on my favorite console.

@Chyld989: But those games also sell. It should stand to reason that beautiful homages to those games would be appreciated by the same people that love the original franchises. I own WWHD, TPHD, LttP, Majora's Mask, and OoT. I'd just as happily buy this game if it showed up on Wii U. It certainly didn't stop me from buying Darksiders 2.
