Not really liking the art style at all, the original UFO game although obviously lower resolutions looks better because it's not 2d cartoony looking and more darker horror theme. The world map in the original was 3D as well.

To be honest people should be getting OpenXCom and modding it to do more stuff.

So they are holding back the OPUS codec (I assume they are using this) from the 360 then advertising it as a feature... eh?

The review here is simply wrong about this game... no other way to put it. It's not an opinion it is a fact, if you weigh up the good and bad aspects this game deserves at least a 5 even if you don't like racing games (as this review clearly does not), anything beyond that is an opinion.

The arcade handling is great, much like games such as Motorstorm, and not complete crap like the dirt series that I would personally give a 1/10 because it feels wrong like you have some type of cheat mode on, but I can see why some people would like it so I would give that a 5/10 and leave it at that (not my thing).

The car damage although not realistic (not many games can have claim to that if any) but panels do come off and is directly related to the impact or shot no idea what the reviewer is going on about here, would be great to have body deformations but what do you wan't from an indie game?!? Gran Turismo does not have this either but I love that game, although admittedly that is not a car combat game.

Weapons are great, I like the way the shots effect the cars, some of the later weapons are a bit distracting though.

Optimisation is good, frame rate is consistent at the detail settings you use.

Graphics are excellent, I've not seen another game of this type with this much detail.

There are however a few bugs and unfinished aspects to this game, just looking at the PDF that comes with this and seeing "BETA" written in the uninstall instructions would give you some idea of what's wrong. Clearly they ran out of funds/time when they released it.

The control set-up is unfinished, some of the mapped buttons to not save properly, there is no vibration support although you can see quite clearly in the game files force feedback is there probably for wheels so why there is no vibrations is anyone's guess. No controller action in the menus either!!!

Graphical glitches appear after ~ 8 races which force you to exit and load the game again, others experience slow downs instead, but the game does not actually crash but you can overlook this as a minor inconvenience.

Steep learning curve and as admitted by the developer/moderator a flawed career mode which makes it harder to progress.

However some or all of these this will be addressed in the first patch, I think they should get another reviewer to play the game at the 1.1 patch as this game is clearly not polished enough for everyone, but is however a lot of fun so I can ignore the flaws.

I would give this game as it stands a 6/10, more if things were fixed, probably more like a 7.5 or 8 if things are patched and new content is added.

Looks to like the PC and PS3 versions (textures) look exactly the same making me think Beth has gimped both versions on purpose. Luckily the PC version is modable so is fixable, shame the PS3 version has been taken down to this level though, Other than that both versions look the same apart from the AA. So the Xbox360 wins in this example, you can tell Beth has little interest in making the PS3 version optimised for the hardware so is a port or there would be more differences then there are. But in all versions PC, Xbox360, PS3 the textures look like crap and are not the best graphics on any system. So it all comes down to the game play and stability. I have no idea how stable this is on Xbox or PS3 but on the PC it is pretty terrible and looks like more testing was in order as it randomly crashes every hour or so of gameplay, maybe longer if you are lucky. Enemies also randomly drop from the sky and clip through walls and die and countless other weird things. I even once has a mutant drop a rifle on the floor and ran away but was still firing the weapon that was on the floor ?!?. Also the physics engine sucks in this game, have you notices after 3 seconds physics on objects seem to turn off stopping in mid air, this is more noticable on traps. This is where the PS3 version should have excelled in, with all the raw processing power physics could have been better. But who knows game looks like is was rushed a bit and not polished as well as it could have been. But what game is these days, random crashes is almost expected from a game by Bethsoft ^^. So the question is which version crashes less?

As for the requirments... Ive had vista running on a virtual machine in linux... so you do not need a 3D vid card with blah blah... you only need that to use the new GUI. Same with the ram requirements. Infact you can make vista use the windows 2000 theme. However they have bundled a load of crap in the OS such as antispyware, and a load of networking stuff that just not that usefull. Some of the features are actully harder to use, it takes a loooong time to install compared to XP and does use over 100MB more ram with all the theme crap turned off. I am staying away from it for as long as i possibly can, besided directX 10 wont be used for a couple of years, and what will DX10 actully improve? But then again it was the same with windows 2000, much more memory efficient, but has lost a lot of support.
