I thought we knew that when a lot of the developers that were working on it left...
they left the team due in part to how there was a "lack of creative autonomy and slow development progress," according to VGC. The development momentum on the Perfect Dark reboot has been "heavily affected" by the departures, the report said.
That was like two years ago and I'm sure if there was any good news at all they would be trying to get it out there, but there's been nothing.
@simonthekid7: Some seemed to think MS would be big enough and have deep enough pockets so this didn't have to happen, but MS still has to answer to investors that only understand the difference between this quarter and last quarter.
I hope these developers land back on their feet. Maybe they will form their own independent studios.
@cherub1000: There are no driver updates or anything, just one main system update like a console and that's it. It's as easy as a console in my experience.
Games are preconfigured where you don't have to change anything in my experience. The controls and graphics are already set up.
@cherub1000: Elden Ring runs great with no frame drops at 40fps and it looks very smooth. The HDR works great too and it looks amazing on that screen.
I can fix the PC issues, but I don't enjoy doing it, that's not how I want to spend my time. I just want to game, and the Steam Deck lets me do that without a second thought.
@cherub1000: I love mine, I'd rather play on that than my gaming PC or laptop because of the ease of use, and the instant sleep/wake. Great for when the family is hogging the TV and consoles.
Easy to use outside of the house too, either tethered to mobile or just in offline mode.
I would recommend it over other PC portables because of the ease of use, you never have to deal with the OS at all, updates are easy and smooth. It feels like using a console. It seems to run everything I throw at it. I love being able to play Elden Ring on the go.
Cons is it won't run every latest game, and on intensive games you'll probably get 2 hours battery. If this makes you worried then I would recommend waiting for Steam Deck 2 (because I wouldn't put up with the OS annoyances of other devices) but honestly the Steam Deck does run a ton of games very very well.
It transformed PC gaming for me. I hope Valve makes a console that does everything the way Steam Deck does, for a good 4k TV PC gaming experience.
Already Steam Deck verified! I love how developers are catering to this hardware and keeping it in mind. It ensures a seamless console-like experience for PC gaming and this is very important for me.
Hades 2 looks good. I hope the main quest is longer than the first game.
