For an old ass game, it runs and plays particularly well. The combat is fun and not clunky like so many MMORPGs that came after. Since I'm about to have a shitton of time on my hands, this is a good fit. I'm looking forward to spending more time with this.
This is not as disappointing as it seems if the new Guided games system works as advertised. You will have access to clans pretty much all the time in game and it really isn't difficult to agree to play on a harder level.The guided games system is supposed to eliminate the need to go find a clan out of the game. If the system is good you'll probably have a larger base of friends to do higher level stuff with. At least it sounds that way to me.
I would go back and watch the Bungie Destiny 2 reveal. They had a pretty good explanation for this.

OR there would be more than one. Keep on being a sucker tho. They just want preorder money because people like you are so eager to give it to them. If I were them I'd take advantage of that too. I'm not mad about it I just don't like the BS. Call it what it is, paid access to a demo.
And yes I am aware that the open beta is free and I'm not specifically talking about Destiny.
@Mogan: EXACTLY. As much as I was impressed with Anthem, I would be surprised if they can pull off the shooting mechanics as well as Destiny has. Say what you want about Destiny, it has some of the tightest shooting out there outside of Doom and Wolfenstein.
Why don't they just go back to calling them demos? That's basically all they are. They must be ecstatic that they have once again found a way to make you pay for something that used to be free.
