@saint-george: nothing wrong with that. I couldn't tell you the story of Horizon or Halo if I tried haha. Has there been a game that has truly stuck with you?

@eastland: really appreciate your comments and your opinions of the game. I am similar to you in the sense that I have played the first game multiple times but only played the sequel that one time. The series is dark thematically, but the sequel definitely takes it up a notch. Therefore, I can see why you didn't like the length, the characters, or the lack or enjoyment in the story. I honestly think Naughty Dog developed this game to make you feel these emotions. I hated playing as Ellie because of what the game made me do in certain areas. I also hated playing Abby because she was basically the same version of Ellie...except she completed her revenge tour and still has PTSD about it. I think I found my experience interesting based on the fact the game made me feel so many different emotions. I hated Abby at the beginning...then I hated Ellie...then I felt bad for Abby because she went down the path that Ellie is currently going down...then I hated Ellie leaving her family to only become a product of this apocalyptic environment: a monster.

I understand this opinion isn't everyone's cup of tea but appreciate hearing your comments on this game!

Do you think the TV show did the first game justice? (If you have seen it?)

@gettingonwithgaminglife: Definitely understand your perspective. I am curious to see if the well acclaimed HBO series has gamers interested in playing the second game so they can see the changes the TV has made versus the game. Did you see the show? Thoughts?

@patriotplayer90: Apologies for not seeing this all those months ago but am glad you enjoyed at least the first 20 hours of the game. Curious to think what your overall opinion is when you completed the game!

@eni232: What part of the story did you not like in Part II? Was it the length? Was it the mid-point POV switch? Was it because you just felt awful while playing it? Or was it something else? Just want to get your full opinion on it (obviously this game has a lot of players split between loving it and hating it). No judgement here!

I agree with not playing a Part III - in my opinion, Part II ends in a way that closes Ellie's storyline. She is a product of the world she grew up in: dark, violent, and self-fish. I think Naughty Dog is working on a Last of Us game but I don't think it is a Part III. It might be more focused on multiplayer but I could be wrong.

@valgaav_219: Thanks Valgaav. It's one of those games that has truly split the gaming community. Some love it, some hate it. But I think that just drives the conversation because of it. The one part that still sticks with me is the final confrontation. Ellie, Abby, and you as the player are tired and beaten up by what has happened in the game. By the end, Ellie gives up on revenge because she finally realized it wouldn't get rid of the image of Joel. It was the only time in the game when I felt relieved.
